Scent of orange tree

When I breathe in the smell of an orange tree, even in the coolness of the early morning hours, with little to no wind, the incredibly sweet scent seems to be just around the leaf.

The scent is really very different than what you smell at a perfume store where the scent will not stay with you once you leave, this scent is natural and more real.

When you are going to walk by an orange tree before the sun heat starts to warm up things, the sweetness will enter your nostrils and continue with you for many blocks past the tree. Even though orange tree leaves are a rich dark green and also produce their own, the white flowers have a stronger odor than the leaves, although you can't see the flowers from far away. I love how the scent of the flowers is one that will make you notice it quickly but won't give you a headache. If the ground is damp at this time of year, everything has a clean and fresh smell that is so special. The grayish colored low branching green branches of the tree form a circle when you look up at them through the leafy trees.

There are times when an orange tree will be small, yet it can produce tons of fruit and provide lots of shade. My uncle had one in his compound. This tree was very small and never grew to be more than a few feet tall, but we would sit under it in the hot afternoon sun to get out of the heat. There weren't any flowers on the tree but you could still feel the life of the tree.

Even though this is a very simple thing, it makes an entire home a much better place to live.
