There are moments in life when words lose their power and silence itself becomes a complete language. In my view "Silence Speaks" doesn't just mean fear or punishment. But the emotions that lie hidden in the heart. Say everything without being spoken. I imagine a scene. A daughter is sitting in a room with her mother. The room is quiet. Only the ticking of the clock is heard. A few hours ago there was a heated argument between the two. Words spoken in anger are now piercing the heart. There is no more shouting. No more complaining only a profound silence that pervades all sides. The daughter looks at her mother again and again. As if she wants the mother to say something. Mother is quietly folding clothes. Her eyes slightly moist but her face calm. She says nothing. But her silence holds everything sadness, resentment, love and an unspoken hope. That all will be well.

◉What message is being communicated through silence in your piece?◉

The silence in this scene is not empty but full of emotion. This silence makes the daughter realize her mistake without scolding her. A mother does not need words to express her pain. Because her silence reveals everything. This silence conveys the message that there are some feelings that cannot be expressed in words. It shows that love endures although resentment. This creates a pause where both reflect on their behavior. It is a quiet reminder that relationships are fragile. Sometimes it is necessary to feel, not speak, to understand

◉Who is silent in your interpretation and why?◉

Both mother and daughter are silent in this scene. But the reasons for their silence are different.
Betty is silent because she has realized her mistake. Shee knows she has crossed the line. Now words seem meaningless. She also feels less apologetic. Her silence is an acknowledgment of her guilt. A silent plea for forgiveness. On the other hand the mother's silence shows her understanding and tolerance. She could have talked more in anger if she wanted. But she preferred silence. She knows that speaking up at this point can make things worse. Her silence is not weakness. But strength which is keeping the relationship from falling apart. This shared silence creates a bond between the two. Where everything is understood even without words.

◉What happens if that silence is finally broken?◉

When this silence is broken. It is not with any noise or anger. There is no long speech, no harsh tone. It begins with a tender moment. The daughter softly says, annem I am sorry.
These few words carry a lot of weight after this long silence. The mother looks at her and instead of saying anything immediately just holds her hand. In that moment silence takes on a new meaning understanding and love. Breaking the silence doesn't end the pain. But it opens the way for hearts to reconnect. It lets the emotions flow again. But this time with gentleness and truth. The silence that seemed like a burden before. Now becomes a lesson. Finally this interpretation suggests that silence is not simply the absence of sound. It is a complete language that expresses the depth of truth, emotions and relationships. Sometimes silence doesn't bridge the distance. But brings hearts closer. In a way that words never can.
