The Brave Goat of Green Valley
Greetings, great Steemians |

Here is my entry
In a quiet village called Green Valley, there lived a white goat named Ojo. She was not the biggest animal on the farm nor the strongest, but she was the bravest. The horses were taller, the cows heavier, and the dogs were faster. But Ojo had non of those abilities but had something special beyond that, which was courage.
Ojo belonged to an old farmer named Mr. Duru and every morning, she would follow him around the farm, nibbling on grass and watching everything in the farm carefully. She admired and loved the chickens, greeted the ducks, and often played with a young calf named Bobo.
One rainy season, the river near the farm began to rise and day after day, the water draws closer to the animal pens and this maked Mr. Duru get worried, but he hopes the rain will stop so that things will return to normal.
But that night, thunder roared across the sky. The wind howled, and the rain poured harder than ever. While the other animals slept, Ojo heard a strange sound crack, the wooden fence near the calf shed had broken, and water was rushing in from the river.
Bobo, the little calf, was trapped inside the fence. Ojo bleated loudly to wake the farm dogs, but they were sleeping in the barn and could not hear her over the storm. Without hesitation, Ojo ran through the muddy yard to the calf shed. The water was very cold and rising fast, and this made Bobo cried in fear shouting for help.
“Don’t worry Bobo". Ojo said “just grab my hands". But Bobo was too scared to move. Ojo used her horns to push against the broken gate, and with a loud snap, the gate opened and She pulled Bobo toward the door and led him through the rushing water. Step by step, they made their way to the higher ground near the barn.
Just as they reached safety, Mr. Duru came running with a lantern. "Ojo!" he shouted in amazements. “You have saved Bobo!”
The next morning, when the storm had passed and the sun appeared, the whole farm was filled with the story of Ojos' courage.
The chickens clucked in admiration. The ducks quacked with excitement. Even the proud horse bowed his head in respect to Ojo, and Mr. Duru tied a beautiful ribbon around Ojo's neck and gave her a basket of her favorite vegetables and this made Ojo felt so honored and happy. From that day on, Ojo was known as the Guardian of Green Valley and was greatly admired my everyone.
Though she was only a goat, she taught everyone an important lesson that true bravery does not depend on size or strength and abilities but It comes from a kind heart and the willingness to help others when they need it most.
I extend my heartfelt gratitude to @xkool24 for this amazing contest. |
