It can involve cutting, picking, plucking, or digging up crops like rice, maize, cassava, vegetables, fruits, etc.

But harvesting is not just about uprooting the crops; timing is everything. If crops are harvested too early, they may be immature and low in quantity and quality as well, and if harvested too late, they may spoil or get damaged by pests or bad weather conditions. So, a good farmer must know the right time to harvest. Positive signs like color change, dryness, hardness, or size often show that a crop is ready to be harvested.
