Harvesting is the final stage of farming which is the process of gathering mature crops from farmland after they have fully grown and reached the stage where they are ready for consumption or use. Harvesting is very important in farming, as during harvesting, farmers are usually happy especially if their crops do well.

Farmers remove crops such as fruits, grains, yams, vegetables, and other crops they planted from the farm so they can be stored, processed, consumed, or sold. The season of harvesting is very important to farmers because it is the stage of reaping from the hard work they have put in place.

Harvesting can be done in two ways:

• Manual harvesting which involves the use of simple farm tools and human labour.

• Mechanical harvesting which is about combining the use of harvesters to gather crops quickly and efficiently.

• Help in storage and processing: After harvesting, crops can be stored, transported, or processed into other products.
