I am @saifuddinmahmud from Bangladesh. There is a beautiful and amazing contest. The contest name is Pick and Write [Agricultural Word] 👉#01. The contest organised by @hive-118902. I am sharing my thought. I hope everyone will like my post.

I select to write about Soil.

• What is Soil

Soil is one of the valuable resources of the earth. Soil is the covering of the earth's surface. There is soil under the ground where we are walking. Soil is a kind of soft and granular covering. We know that this soil is made up of a mixture of different organic substances. Plants are born from soil. We can fulfill the lack of food from these plants. This soil is of different types in different places. Sandy soil, clay soil, silt soil and loamy soil. In each type of soil, a different type of plant is born. It is not only plants that grow from soil. We establish buildings, houses, industries, etc. on this soil. Humans are made of soil, and people are buried in this soil.

• Importance of soil

Soil plays a very important role in preserving the existence of biodiversity. The food we get to survive comes from different crops. This crop has to be produced in the soil. The tops of these crops provide nutrients to the plants from the soil. There are many microorganisms living inside the soil. These microorganisms maintain the fertility of the soil. There is water inside the soil. When the soil is dug, water comes out. Living organisms live by drinking this underground water under the soil. Soil plays an important role in protecting the environment. Soil helps prevent floods and soil erosion. Soil also plays a very important role from an economic point of view. Bricks are made from this soil. From that brick we build houses, buildings etc. The development of a country depends largely on the soil of that country. Because the area or place where the soil is fertile, the crops are produced well. Because of the soil, our world is so green and full of crops. Plants grow on the soil, animals live by eating the fruits, leaves etc. of those plants. All the elements that we use every day in our life are somehow related to the soil. Soil is an integral part of our life.

• My opinion

So we can say in one word that soil is not just a material, soil is an essential element for the survival of living beings. Therefore, we should all use soil properly.
