If you've got any job on the farm which you're well away will take you two minutes or less, it's best you do it immediately.

The reason is because of the nature of a farm as opposed to that if your well furnished office. They're not the same. The farm will punish waiting way more than offices will. If you leave a gate latch that is loose, you will fix it eventually. You will have to call and knock on your neighbors’ doors. You will waste your whole weekend. The math is always the same.

Slightly bad teats of your cow can be evaluated and cleaned quickly and an untreated bad teat can easily go from bad to, we or almost good to abscessed, which is painful for the livestock. If you walk around the farm for the last time and think it will be fine, you will have to call the vet and pay to have it incised. We’ll call it incised because it will hurt. All that could have been avoided if only you did a little work. That's the trick with the 2 minutes rules. The little tasks you can easily overlook in the farm can cost you your entire investment if you do overlook them.

It will hurt to have your pockets empty so always fill or refill the water si it also stays clean for the animal. Imagine buying livestock and paying water bills and just because you didn't refill it, the livestock has gotten sick and the water is now pointless, money not well spent at all.

With farm life you have to think of experience as knowledge. Newer farmers have bad luck because they think they will be fine. The two minute rule isn’t that small. It is small things that will spread and cause bigger problems later. Old farmers have good luck because they think small problems are costly and not temporary and they treat small problems as even bigger problems.

You are tired and feeling lazy to do that 2 minutes work, but you might spend more time if you leave it to become a bigger problem.
