What is Tilling?
Tilling is the process of loosning turning and preparing the soil befores planting seeds. In simples words tilling means breakings the hard soil so that plants can grows easily. Farmers use different tools like ploughs hoes tractors or cultivators to till the land. Tilling helps the soil become soft and airy. When soil is loose plant roots can grow deeper and stronger. It also helps to mix plant remains and fertilizers into the soil. Tilling is usually done before sowing crops and sometimes between crop growth to control weeds.
Discuss the types of Soil Tilling
There are different types of soil tilling depending on how deep and how often the soil is tilled.
a) Primary Tilling
Primary tilling is the first and deep tilling of the soil. It is done to break hard soil and prepare the land for farming. This type of tilling is usually done using ploughs or tractors. It turns the soil completely and removes weeds and old crop remains.
b) Secondary Tilling
Secondary tilling is done afters primary tilling. It makes the soil smoother and readys for seed planting. Tools likes harrows or cultvators are used. This tilling helps to levels the land and break small soil clods.
c) Shallow Tilling
Shallow tilling is done on the upper layer of soil only. It is mostly used to control weeds and improve soil surface. It does not disturb the deep soil layers.
d) Conservation Tilling
Conservation tilling is a modern method where soil disturbance is kept minimum. Crop remains are left on the soil surface. This method helps to protect soil from erosion and save moisture.
What are the Advantages and disadvantages of soil tilling.
:- Advantages of Soil Tilling
• Tilling makes the soil softs which helps seeds to germinated easily.
• It improves air and water movements in the soil.
• Tilling helps in removings weads that completed with crops.
• It mixes fertilzers and organic matter wells into the soil.
• It helps farmers prepared land properly for betters crop yield.
:- Disadvantages of Soil Tilling
• Too much tilling can damage soil structure.
• It can caused soil erosion especialy during rain or wind.
• Excess tiling reduces soil moisture and organic matter.
• It increases farming cost because of fuel and labor use.
• It can harm useful soil organisms like earthworms.
I am inviting friends @akareen @suboohi @sohanurrahman

The tillage system is inclusive, extending through the levels of primary tillage to conservation tillage, which aids understanding. I also agree that soil management is beneficial in many ways, but soil erosion and compaction damage are problems that must be dealt with. Thank you for posting these helpful basics on agriculture, I hope it helps expand the world view of many.
