Grandmother and a cow

The best time of our life is childhood, of course, of you have grandparents and if they live in country side that is the best for little children. I think it is also very good for teaching the children to learn to help in household and learn to be responsible. The kids like to have some tasks and be treated like grown up.

I remember that my grandparents were always happy to have us there, they lived in a small village and also they had couple of cows and few chicken. We received every morning fresh milk. The whole day was planned in a certain way. We woke up at 5AM and at 6 am my grandfather went to bring our cow to green valley. There was juicy grass and a huge sunny place. I had a feeling that cows love this place, they ate, they sleep and sun under the blue sky.

Later on when cows were back home the first thing my my grandmother did was feed little calves. She let then to drink first milk and then she started to milk them.

One day I asked my grandmother if I am allowed to milk them too. My grandmother allowed me, she showed me how to do it and that if the cow becomes a bit irritated then to strike it and to try to calm the cow down. It was a great feeling when I saw how warm milk was squeezed out and was dripping in a bucket. The milk was still very warm and my mother was also very happy to see that I was managing very well. After we had enough milk she let the calves again to the mother and we then left. When back home my grandmother cooked milk and after cooling down she made some pancakes for me. They were very delicious, I was absolutely impressed how different the taste was from the milk that we normally buy in supermarket.

That summer was very memorable for me and also full of memories and experiences.
