Animal Activities #62: Old dog Max
Hello my dear Steemians,
I wanted to tell you a story today about my friend, Sam and her dog. Actually when she was about 8 years old her parents took a little puppy. Sam told me that since she was a child and almost since she remembers her life she always had her little puppy Max. I remember she was telling me how they were travelling with Max in their motor home to seaside and every summer she had fun.
Understandably, once we are growing up, we have other interests, our friends but also out pets are getting older and not really so active with time.
It was the same with Sam, she started her University and moved away from parents, of course, parents then were with the dog. The good thing they had to do regular walks because dogs needs to go out in the morning and evening. Recently Sam told me that her dog became more tired and sleepy recently not fancying any food even those that the dog loved before. She was concerned and her mother brought the dog to Vet doctor, after investigations the dog was diagnoses with cancer and that was already sizeable. Of course they needed to think what to do next, because the dog was already 16 years old and that was normally almost maximum age that this type of dog could live. The parents were hesitating what to do, my friend Sam was very sad, because it was her friend for many, many years.
After thinking a bit Sam and her parents finally decided to to do the surgery because they thought that cancer could cause more pain and they wanted the dog to be at least pain free.
Now it is almost a week since the dog has surgery and Sam and her parents telling that the dog is feeling better because it started to eat again and more active. So we hope that it will live for some time from now.
