Basic Knowledge in Agriculture #82: mechanization

Working on field it is very hard physical job. The farmers if they have their own fields they do work either with their family members but also sometimes they have people working for their farm. If we recall the time early in 20th century there was not many machinery and mechanical equipment that could help to work on fields. Mostly it was just horses and manual hard work. Maybe that was a reason why the products of farms were expensive and the amount was limited. Of course, people then were selling their own products of their work on small farmer markets.
Slowly thank to the people who like to invent something they started developing machinery like simple tractors now not only a tractor that can do pull something or dig the fields.
The work on fields are going on the whole year throughout. The work usually starts in spring, temperature getting warmer and the soil needs to get refreshed, using such machinery it is possible to dig the whole field during one day. We also know that it is important to make sure that the fields have enough minerals and nutrients for good harvest. Such term fertilization is also done nowadays with machinery that could carry large amount of the nutrients and also equally spread it on field.
The next is to make sure that the fields are receiving enough water and plants are growing well. Watering system nowadays also done through special system of tubes and different way of watering.
Once the harvest is there, it is important to make sure that harvest is collected in time and not destroyed by birds or animals. With the help of machines the field of machine the harvest is collected quickly and within couple of days it is done and stored in special storage area.
