Hello my dear Steemians,

 

These days what I noticed in our garden is that there are few new little oak trees. Usually they are big and strong and we have many around towards mid summer and beginning of autumn we see that they have many acorns and of course, the roads and lawn could have many lying there. I remember my grandmother told me that those oak trees are planted by natural gardener and so she called squirrels! I was always wondering why and how it is possible that these little cute animals would plant them.

Later one my grandmother also explained that they do not do it intentionally but they just hide some acorns for winter for themselves like in reserve. When there is cold winter and no food they usually dig them out and eat. Of course, normally they also sleep in winter but there could be time when they are awake and hungry in that case they start running around and search their acorn storage area.

Also it is possible that they may not remember all the places that is why many of those acorns will just stored over winter and in spring some of them may sprout and in those places there in the future will be a new young oak tree grow. My grandmother also mentioned that if these process happen somewhere where nobody lives then instead of green valley there may appear forests full of oak trees. That is why she called little squirrels little gardeners.

For me she always said that we should look after these gardener, especially if there are some cats we should make sure that they do not chase our little gardener. In the time when it is too dry summer and no rains then we should make spaces with some water for them so that they could survive and feed their little children. That is why in our garden we always have water station for little squirrels but also it is open for birds too.
