If we love the nature and if we enjoy living on countryside and want to make nice garden then we have to put a lot of effort and almost every weekend we need to do work in garden.
For me when I was young I always helped my parents and grandparents being in garden. Maybe one of the reason was to check if strawberries are ripe and if then we were eating them already in garden.
Of course, we were told that time to time we need to do some work in garden to clear them from weed. We also asked our parents what is weed and were explained that these are just wild grasses, that randomly grow anywhere, they are very simple and robust grass, that does not need much nutrient, not much water and even if the weather is very dry that also will not stop weed to grow.
In our strawberry area, we were removing the weed manually, I loved to pull them out of ground, we were playing competition who from us, kids will manage to pull out the weed the whole without leaving the roots behind, because then weed will grow again.
There is also chemical treatment of soil to prevent growth of weed, I do not like to use any chemicals because then it can affect the soil or vegetables and fruits that we plant. If you do clean the vegetable patches in time you can keep everything under control easier. We try to work in garden every week.
There are two other plants that belong to weed that are dandelion and Ivy they are very resistant to everything and also spread very quickly, once you have any of these weed you have to work hard to keep your garden under control. It is important to teach children and bring them love to work in garden and love garden.
