Steemit Challenge Application For Season 33 | Farm Tales: Storytelling from the Soil
Hello Steemit Team and Steemians!
Following the application notification from #steemitblog, I am interested in joining the next SLC instructors for the upcoming season. My application entry would be that I suggest applying to host the theme_Farm Tales: Storytelling from the Soil. This is a challenge I deemed fit to help agricultural creators on Steemit turn their daily work activities into engaging stories that teach and inspire other Steemians.
CHALLENGE THEME: Farm Tales: Storytelling from the Soil
| 6-Week Schedule with Tasks |
|---|
Participants are expected to nicely introduce their farms, gardens, or growing spaces as the case may be. This is usually perceived to be the starting point of every farmer or gardener before venturing into any farming or planting style of their choice.
Task: Participants are expected to post 3-5 original photos of their land/plot which has been selected or used for this task. They are to write 300-500 words answering some of the subtask questions: ¹How did they get this space? ²What are they growing/raising in this land or space? ³What is their ultimate goal this planting season?
Important keynotes: Participants are expected to start their storytelling with a strong first photo. This would help nicely describe the smell, feel, and sound of the piece of land or selected space. Participants' ability to make us feel as if we are standing there with them is the goal. Other details are expected to join suit.
Learning Keynotes: Setting a clear and real-life scene and writing strong openings is envisaged.
The theme for the second week is to introduce a person behind the work as we've already identified a land to be cultivated or already been cultivated.
Task: Participants are to share a photo of themselves, that of a family member, or a worker as the case may be. ²Participants are to write in detail about their role in the chosen land, ³One thing they seem to love about farming in this space, ⁴And just one challenge they face during this period of farming.
**Important Keynotes: Participants should explicitly show how people connect to people without demonstrating generic bios. The use of anecdotes is strongly encouraged.
Learning Keynotes: Participants are to demonstrate in strong terms character-driven storytelling.
Participants are expected to share a real-life challenge that affected the cultivated land without any specific area in mind and how they were able to handle it.
Task: Participants are expected to describe just one problem encountered in the field. This may be pests, drought, market prices, equipment failure, etc. ²They are to explain what they tried while. trying to handle this challenge, what worked and what didn’t work are determinants of getting the full mark.
Important Keynotes: Participants are to be honest while stating the problem encountered. Genuine ideas shared in posts tend to perform well when they end with a lesson to everyone.
Learning Keynotes: This theme is intended to create a Problem-solution narrative structure for our readers and agriculturists.
Participants are intended to show how their journeys have been after harvest. It is not just enough to start but to finish above average with satisfaction.
Task: Participants are expected to post images of them either harvesting, processing, selling, or cooking their produce with a detailed explanation. ²They should endeavour to explain the steps and any challenges in between.
Important Keynotes: Participants are to use captions for each photo to be demonstrated in their explanation. Your sole aim here is to help readers understand the process as explained by you.
**Learning Keynotes: Our learning here is to help give meaning to Process storytelling and sequencing.
We know that there are traditional methods inherent in every area, Partcipants are to share traditional knowledge from their area as implemented during their farming moment.
Task: ¹ Participants are intended to write about one traditional farming method, crop, or piece of advice passed down locally in their territory. ²Participants are to explain how the traditional method works and if they still use it.
Important Keynotes: Participants who are unsure about any traditional method should be able to ask older farmers in their area. The essence of your inquiry is to maintain originality in all fonts.
Learning Keynotes: Key learning from this week's task is to enable participants to nicely put up Cultural preservation publications and knowledge documentation.
The last week of the month will be a time to reflect and plan. This is a time participants who carried out the tasks are expected to reflect on what worked and didn't work for them.
Task: Task participants are expected to "Review" what worked during the entire task learning challenge. ²What can they change that didn’t work well for them? ³What will you be planting next season if this task continues? ⁴Share one lesson from the session which you will want other farmers to know about.
Important Keynotes Learning: This is a reflective learning path for everyone who participated. A time to share with everyone what worked and didn't work as planned.

This is my application for the steemit SLC season 33. It is my intention to spice up the steemit community using the agricultural storytelling path. I believe its selection would be an addition to the platform.

Read your application carefully and really liked the style. It is a unique idea to present the daily experiences related to agriculture in the form of stories, through which not only the farmers will be able to share their experiences but also others will get practical information. The six-week plan also looks clear and orderly.
Best wishes to you from me. Hopefully your proposal will be selected and the Steemit community will have the opportunity to see a useful and interesting challenge.
Thank your for the nice feedback. I do appreciate you.
