STEEM ATLAS [14 Mar '25] : The Atlas Challenge - Prize Pool increased to 1000 STEEM

The Atlas Challenge seems to have caught people's attention.

The top positions in the Leaderboard have been changing regularly over the past week.

To encourage more people to participate this week's Steem Atlas release increased the Leaderboard to show the Top 100.

We also added in another secret tweak to the algorithm that calculates the Leaderboard rankings.

The Atlas Challenge

As announced last week we are going to be giving STEEM prizes to the top positions in the Leaderboard each week.

---

Because of the enthusiasm already shown for the Atlas Challenge we have decided to increase the monthly prize pool to 1000 STEEM.

On the 7th, 14th and 21st of each month, at 12noon UTC, we will be taking a snapshot of the Leaderboard and awarding prizes to the top five Steem Atlas authors...

• 1st place = 50 STEEM

• 2nd place = 40 STEEM

• 3rd place = 30 STEEM

• 4th place = 20 STEEM

• 5th place = 10 STEEM

In addition to these weekly awards, on the last day of each month, at 12noon UTC, there will be the mega prize giveaway of 550 STEEM to the top ten Steem Atlas authors...

• 1st place = 100 STEEM

• 2nd place = 90 STEEM

• 3rd place = 80 STEEM

• 4th place = 70 STEEM

• 5th place = 60 STEEM

• 6th place = 50 STEEM

• 7th place = 40 STEEM

• 8th place = 30 STEEM

• 9th place = 20 STEEM

• 10th place = 10 STEEM

This will make a total prize pool of 1000 STEEM each month !

The first weekly prizes will be awarded tomorrow on Saturday 15 March 2025.

Then there will be another 150 STEEM of prizes for the top 5 on 21 March, and then there will be the big prize giveaway of 550 STEEM on 31 March.

How to take part in the Atlas Challenge

To take part in the Atlas Challenge you just need to post on Steem Atlas.

You can post about any place or location that you have personally visited. You must use your own photographs.

Posts can be about...

• tourist attractions
• holiday destinations
• mountains & lakes
• museums & galleries
• theatres
• sport venues & stadiums
• zoos, animal sanctuaries & wildlife parks
• churches, temples & places of worship
• restaurants, cafes, bars & any type of eating place
• shops & shopping malls
• universities, colleges & schools

In fact any places or locations that you can locate on Steem Atlas.

The Leaderboad rankings are not just calculated on the number of posts.

There is a complex algorithm that uses a whole set of different factors to work out the rankings automatically and dynamically. (Being a Steem Ambassador is NOT one of the factors.)
