We have the predisposition to justify our failures by blaming others for our problems. That bad attitude comes from our sinful heritage. After having sinned, Adam tried to justify his disobedience by throwing the blame on Eve, rather on God for giving her as a wife: "The woman you gave me as a companion gave me the tree, and I ate" (Genesis 3:12). In adverse circumstances, like Adam, we blame God for our misfortunes.
Lord, why do you allow this evil to happen to me? Why do you favor others and not me? Why do you take away what I love most? They are reproaches that we have made to God. Others, like Eva, prefer to blame the devil: "The serpent deceived me and I ate" (Genesisi 3:13). The pride that nests in the heart of the human being prevents him from admitting his mistakes, confessing them and humbly seeking the forgiveness of God. Without a doubt, our greatest enemy is ourselves.
From Genesis, man to forbidden it. I live in Eden, I enjoy peace, love, prosperity and a brotherly relationship with God, but I felt unhappy because I longed for the only thing I could not have. When he got it, he destroyed himself and his descent. We must consider that with our sins we drag our children, grandchildren and the generations to come. Let us ask the Lord for his own domain so as not to fall into temptation.
Most of the problems that overwhelm us are because we walk outside the will of God. We do things our way, how we feel it, how they seem to us, how we want; Believing us wise, we act like fools. "Do not think yourself very wise, obey God and turn away from evil." "Because that wisdom does not come from God, but from this world and the devil, and produces jealousy, fights, problems and all kinds of evil" (Proverbs 3: 7, James 3: 15-16).
Satan will always come with his lies to cause us harm and destruction, however, it is we who have the power to decide if we listen to the evil one or submit all our thoughts to obedience to Christ. The modus operandi of the enemy of the enemy has not changed. He sows an idea in the mind to activate the senses (passions of the body, desires of the eyes and vainglory of life) and to measures that we meditate on that idea we begin to cultivate in our hearts uncontrolled appetites and evil passions. "For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false testimonies, blasphemies" (Matthew 15:19).
The book of wisdom teaches that just as a man thinks, such is he (Proverbs 23: 7). "He who is good, of the goodness that he treasures in the heart, produces good, but he who is evil produces evil from evil" (Luke 6:45). We must recognize that we all have good and bad thoughts. We can feel pity or excessive hatred; act as peacemakers or create the fiercest contests; be responsible for altruistic works or the most perverse actions. That is the reason why the Bible advises that above all things we take care of the mind, because it is the source of life (Proverbs 4:23). Think of all that is true, all that is honest, all that is just, all that is pure, all that is lovely, all that is of good name (Philippians 4: 8).
Stop blaming God and others for your problems. I invite you to look inside of you. take an examination of conscience. Confront yourself. Admit and confess before the throne of grace the evil desires that fight within us, is the first step to free ourselves of pride, greed, jealousy, envy, anger ... and all the vilespassions that prevent us from achieving the peace in our relationships. Repentance will give way to the transformation of a hard heart into a soft, kind one, willing to yield to others, full of comparison and good works.
"Examine me, O God, and know my heart, prove me and know my thoughts, and see if there is in my way of perversity, and guide me in the eternal way" (Psalm 139: 23-24).
