In the name of Honour and Dignity, she lost the battle of life to her own brother...
Today was the last episode of the reality striking drama serial, a biopic named Baaghi, on one of the most dynamic and popular social media sensations of her time, Fauzia Azeem or what turned out to be her true identity, QANDEEL BALOCH.
A brave girl of a small village. She was born in a less priviliged family. Dedicated to catering and fulfiiling the needs of her loved ones, she was always very determined to work, to earn her own living. During that process, she met the man of her dreams for whom she had to run away from her house to get him accepted by her family.
But hard times and difficulties never knock on the door. They always make their way through silently and then 'ka-boom'.
She was cheated upon, beated on daily basis and never given any financial support by her husband. She was divorced three times. Unfortunately by the same man as her parents would always turn her away to go and live or rather bear with her in laws.
But when she couldn't find 'home' and was forced out from her own house, she had to leave behind her few months old son to persue her dreams. She moved to the city hoping that she'll get accepted there. But this is a cruel world!.
She wanted to make her name in modelling and singing. She even worked hard for it. But people used her for their own good. They pushed her to her limits. Just because they couldn't recognize her true potential didn't mean that she never had any.
This was proved when after losing so many battles at so many different points of life but most importantly never giving up, she took support of social media.
She wanted to gain the fame and popularity that would get her accepted into the industry she always dreamed of being in. And not surprisingly, she acheived her target. She even achieved her goal when she moved her family to city, to live in peace and better environment. And enjoy the pleasure of life like others. She was bearing all their expenses without demanding anything in return. So did she do anything wrong?
NO!
THEN where did the things go wrong?
Her family was unaware of her source of income. When she gained fame and was everywhere on news, they found out about her. The way she hid her identity and lied about so many things tormented her family. But that was not it. The society or the "Islamic Soceity" took her as a disgrace. They called her dressing style provicative! People's remarks and comments about the way she talked or faked her accent were also disappointing.
But that period of time brought him another man. Who loved her very much. And promised her to bring her son back to her. They were happy with each other and were getting married really soon. When Qandeel took this news to her house. His brothers got mad and took this as an insult to their honour. They already were fed up of what the society had to say about their sister.
Her brothers couldn't take this disgrace. And so one night, one of his brothers mixed sedatives in her glass of milk. When she was half numb. He went into her room and strangled her to death.
Though he tried to run away after commiting this huge sin. But was caught. And even though it wasn't of any use because Qandeel's parents had to forgive their son. This story shook so many.
If our religion don't allow certain things then why was she only responsible to oblige by the rules?
Did killing her satisfied the society?
Did everything went back to normal?
Is there any surity that no Qandeel Baloch will ever rise again on a land where she will not be killed in the name of honour?
