What is prayer and why does praying have so much power, even when you pray very little, but straight from your heart and with every sincerity.

Jesus specifically told us to pray without season, considering the fact that praying is one of the fastest means of communicating with God. Most people in the world today apply little or no faith in their prayers there by making it, almost not relevant, because Christ has made it clear that prayer is communicating with God, so how you going to communicate with God, if you dont believe he's actually listening?

Jesus gave us guidelines of how how prayers should be channeled, through the Lord's prayer.

Matthew 6:9-13 New International Version (NIV)

9 “This, then, is how you should pray:
“‘Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name,
10 your kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
11 Give us today our daily bread.
12 And forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors.
13 And lead us not into temptation,[a]
but deliver us from the evil one.

THE ACCURATE FORM OF PRAYER

From the Lord's prayer above, we clearly see how Jesus channelled every angle.

Jesus said "Our father in heaven, hallowed be thy name, your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven". We clearly observe how Jesus started the prayer with praising the name of the Lord, Jesus exalted the name, giving him his derserved glory and worship. You don't start a prayer by making endless request or asking God to start destroying all the demons in your life.

You don't call your parents on the phone and the first thing you get to ask is, send me money, or start pilling up your request to be granted. Greetings are important, but because God is above our human existence, you give him his glory and exalt his holy name, and by doing so, His attention is drawn to you and listens to you, and what you have to say.

"Give us today our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors" Now you see the importance of recognising that you're human and not above mistakes, there by asking for forgiveness. This is highly important, because as humans we tend to sin everyday, even when we don't know, and that's why it's very important, we seek God's forgiveness after exalting him, by so doing, you have acknowledge the fact that, he's God and only him alone can grant you pardon for your wrong doings. And not just telling God to forgive your mistakes but by also making sure that you also forgive those who have wronged you too on earth.

God is not going to grant you pardon if you can't seem to let go and forgive the wrong of your fellow human being, that would be a thing of selfishness, because you care more about your wrongs which you seek pardon from God, but your don't want to grant pardon to your next door neighbor. So its important you let go of all the heavy burden buried in your heart and forgive who so ever hurt you, so that your heavenly father, can do same to your mistakes, as no one is above mistakes.

Also, this is the part, were we could make our request to God almighty, asking for our heart desires, needs and wants. But more importantly, you should always have in mind that, the almighty father knows every thought of your heart even before they are been made into thought, so you should be sure to apply faith, patience and believe that whatever you're asking for will be granted to you.

"And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one". Still on the note of requesting, we seek the guidiance of God regarding been tempted by satan. As humans we tend to fall into these temptation daily and without the help of God, we become victims, but here lies the request to God to protect us from this form of evil and deliver us when it happens that we become weak and give in to the temptation of satan.

Furthermore, you include every other thing you feel the need of letting God grant you, before concluding your prayers.

Prayers is not about the lenght or energy you use, but about the amount of faith and patience you put into your prayers. And as Christians, we must understand that, during our prayers, the evil ones knows how important it is and by so doing they make sure your prayers are never able to get to God. During Prophet Daniel's prayers, is a clear example of what goes on in the spiritual realm that we don't see.

Daniel 1: 12-21 (NIV)

12 Then he continued, “Do not be afraid, Daniel. Since the first day that you set your mind to gain understanding and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard, and I have come in response to them. 13 But the prince of the Persian kingdom resisted me twenty-one days. Then Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me, because I was detained there with the king of Persia. 14 Now I have come to explain to you what will happen to your people in the future, for the vision concerns a time yet to come.”
15 While he was saying this to me, I bowed with my face toward the ground and was speechless. 16 Then one who looked like a man[n] touched my lips, and I opened my mouth and began to speak. I said to the one standing before me, “I am overcome with anguish because of the vision, my lord, and I feel very weak. 17 How can I, your servant, talk with you, my lord? My strength is gone and I can hardly breathe.”
18 Again the one who looked like a man touched me and gave me strength. 19 “Do not be afraid, you who are highly esteemed,” he said. “Peace! Be strong now; be strong.” When he spoke to me, I was strengthened and said, “Speak, my lord, since you have given me strength.” 20 So he said, “Do you know why I have come to you? Soon I will return to fight against the prince of Persia, and when I go, the prince of Greece will come; 21 but first I will tell you what is written in the Book of Truth. (No one supports me against them except Michael, your prince).

The book of daniel has opened our eyes and shown us, we must be steadfast in prayers, because prayers is our only weapon we can go to battle with, to fight the territorial demons hindering our prayers from being answered.

Jesus himself, while he was on earth, showed us the importance of prayers, during the hours of his arrest. The Bible said his sweat was as thick as blood and the angel of the Lord came to strengthen him for his mission ahead. Jesus understood the gravity of the cup he is about to carry for the whole of humanity, he saw the cup was heavy and the pains, suffering was much, he asked God to remove the cup, but not his will, let the father's will be done. That's to show you that, prayer is a divine communication key, that gives us free access to the father as long as faith and patience is applied, because God takes his time while answering prayers. People seem to want their prayers answered with utmost urgency, but God don't work the way man thinks. Therefore patience must be applied.

Finally my brothers and sisters, prayers is important and Should be carried out diligently, and accurately to avoid praying without answers.

Prayer is the difference between the best we can do, and the best God can do.

When we ache over the challenges facing those we love, and fear the situation won’t change, we may be tempted to believe that the Lord will not act. But we should never underestimate the power of prayer, for our loving God hears our pleas.

We don’t know how He will move in response to our petitions, but we know that as our Father He longs for us to embrace His love and to trust in His faithfulness.

Thanks for your awesome contribution and welcome to SteemChurch.

We can see you are new to Steemit too, try to play around the FAQ page.

I've seen the power of prayer with my very eyes. It's so surprising to see how situations change, just because of a hearthfelt prayer. I believe there's really power in prayers.

The greatest prayer he gave us is his prayer.
I never umagined that they would be any other thing which can change iur lives apart from prayers.
Prayer can change anything you think is impossible
Learning to pray is also very important you must not disturb others or shout in the street before people we see you are praying.
Daniel is good example he was always praying to God and he never came out and shout or raise his voice in babylon for people to notice him. He prayed silently in his private place and time abd Gods miracle manifested in him in the lions den.
Christ also always find time to pray for others and pray to God when he came from heaven to earth as human.
He should be our role model while we are praying

Indeed prayer is the key to all problems
Pray without ceasing and season

Prayer is our weapon of spiritual warfare not just routine or mediocre prayer, but prayer powerful enough to move God’s hand in order to determine the destiny of a whole nation.
Most of us don’t realize our authority because if we did, we would be praying far more. We would be sacrificing everything else in order to pray.

Really, the effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much......
Your prayer can effect changes.....
Pray in the name of Jesus....
Thanks, Steem on

May the peace of our lord jesus may be with.

Amen

As a Christian there is no other weapon we have the only weapon we have as a Christian is prayer. So we must not cease prayers.

The lords prayer is a like a roadmap or like structure for which a Christian is supposed to pray, however this plan makes it easier for Christian to come in the presence of God and pray in the right way

Prayer is the key to good communication with God!! Nice post!

Calling on God in prayers require faith,we cannot achieve any results when we don't believe

Prayers is not about the lenght or energy you use, but about the amount of faith and patience you put into your prayers.
