The WAR OF THE MIND
Everyday my mind races with speed., the conflicts between the right and wrong can only determine my personality.

Romans 7:15
For that which I do I allow not: for what I would, that do I not; but what I hate, that do I.
2 Corinthians 10:5
Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;
The war of the mind is an on going war in our lives. It is not waged by military forces (such as the Navy Army or Marine) or nations ( United States and South Korea etc) over geographical territory but in the mind and heart of every human being. The lives of nations and the future of the world, is greatly dependent on the winner of this war. We call this war the defense of the Christian Faith.

There is also the positive need to win over every thought to the mind of Christ. This is not an attack against individual, but a war about issues and decisions . It is hard for some people to discuss these issues without becoming personal about the issue.
2 Corinthians 10:1
Now I Paul myself beseech you by the meekness and gentleness of Christ, who in presence am base among you, but being absent am bold toward you.
Galatians 5:17
For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.
The war of the mind is an inevitable battle that must happen in the early of every Christian life.

2 Corinthians 5:17
Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

Our Spirit becomes a new creature by the virtue of receiving Christ, but our mind remains unchanged or unaltered. The spirit-man saved, will intentionally want to love the Lord, but the mind unrenewed will want to do contrary.
Now the essence of this topic is to bring to our awareness that as Christians we should strive to completely be alive in God. We cannot be between both lines, we are either "Cold" or "Hot".
“For out of the heart proceeds evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, slanders.
Matthew 15:19-20
For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies:

These are the things which defile a man: but to eat with unwashen hands defileth not a man.
We become winners against against the flesh when we win the war of our minds.
Have you noticed how your thinking influences your actions? Perhaps there was a task you needed to perform, but you talked yourself out of doing it. We’ve all been there — “Oh, I’ll do it later.” “Oh, I can’t find anything to wear.” “Oh, it’s not that important, anyway.” The list of excuses is endless. And this is Jesus’ point: what we think in our hearts will be executed in our bodies.
Then what do we do? Do we change our hearts!? But remember — like any other valuable effort, this change takes time. But if we don’t attempt it, we will never attain it! Apostle Peter declared in his Epistle, 1 Peter 1:13
Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ;
From this scripture, we notice the importance of keeping our hearts focused on the things of God ( things that is set high above.
What then is the conclusion of the whole matter? Simply, according to Jesus and Peter, the battle for our eternal soul begins and ends in your own mind. If we are to remain victorious or winners, we must, with God’s help, work constantly to regulate our mind’s desires so we can develop spiritual strength. This can be achieved through:
- Surrendering our lives and submitting to God,
- Regular Bible study,
- Spending quality time in prayers
- Observing quite times
- Genuine fellowship with the saints
Philippians 4:8
Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
Paul tells us in Philippians about building the right mind-set, by thinking on the right contents, as these qualities can help us live a successful Christian life.
Zechariah 4:6
Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the word of the LORD unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts.

It takes the Spirit to produce all that God want us to become. Let us come to the point of submitting to the power of the Holy Spirit, declaring "it is not by my effort, strength poeer", that I can get my mind totally reprogrammed, but by your Spirit.
Stay blessed in his Peace!
