How to Stir Up God's gift
That is why I would remind you to stir up (rekindle the embers of, fan the flame of, and keep burning) the [gracious] gift of God, [the inner fire] that is in you by means of the laying on of my hands with those of the elders at your ordination].
7For God did not give us a spirit of timidity (of cowardice, of craven and cringing and fawning fear), but [He has given us a spirit] of power and of love and of calm and well-balanced mind and discipline and self-control.
2Timothy 1:6-7
The gifts and calling of God are irrevocable. When God gives unto people, He gives liberally and does not reproach. God is the best Giver; no man can out give Him. if God has given you any gift, know for sure that it is yours for the taking. You have what God has given unto you. God doesn’t play with words. Whatever He has given unto you is all yours, and whatever He has not given unto you is not yours. When the Word tells us that God has not given us the spirit of fear, but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind; then you know that you don't have that Spirit. But whatever He has given unto you is all yours in Christ.
The Bible passage above reveals the admonition of the apostle Paul to Timothy his son in the faith. He tells him to stir up the gift of God in him by the putting on of his hands. The apostle Paul was sure the gift was there, and has not dissipated from Timothy when he laid his hands on him. Such is the benevolence and goodness of God to everyone. When God gives, He does it liberally and irrevocably. Therefore you have to learn to stir up the gift of God in you. Don't let it lie fallow or dormant. Be deliberate, intentional and strategic in the use of the gift of God in you. You must stay stirred in the use of the gift of God given unto you.
How then do l stir up the gift of God
Obviously, this is the next question that we might ask. Prayer and consistent use of your God~endowed gift is the simple answer to the question. That's how to make the gift work for you always. God's gift bestowed on you makes you responsible for the operation and effectiveness of it. When you pray in other tongues, you are fanning to flame the gift of God in you. When your gift is red hot. it delivers the grace of God without delay. But when it is not, it drags in the delivery of what it contains. Again. be sensitive and conscious of what God is doing in you. and do not hesitate to use your gift daily to be a blessing to people around you. You will be farming to flame. or stirring up the gift of God within you.
The gifts of God are like seeds that are planted to make our lives and that of our neighbours easier. Typically, in a church we see how different people harness their gifts in diverse ways. When we use our gifts to serve God, it is well appreciated. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for sharing this.
One thing is for God to filled us with diverse gifts and another thing is to water it and watch it grow.
We have our own part to use the gifts to the glory of God.
We need to be consistent in prayer.
We need to live a life that pleases God.
We need to disallowed pride in our lives.
We don't need to play with fasting and prayers.
We need the word of God as our armour.
May we never receive the Spirit and gift of God in vain in Jesus nane

i believe so much in the connection we create with God when we speak in tongues.
You need the Holy Spirit to first discover your gift
To make his favour be bountiful in your life you have to give him all you have truth and in spirit.
God is love and everything you need in life he is able to take care of you right from the time you where born till now .
Never think he is not mighty neigther is he not aware of your existence.
Give him your heart and you soul through the act of worship and working for him in all direction and all ways .
He has made you his own right from the time of creation
Interesting one from you Mikay. We definitely want to stir up God's gift. And also regarding his promises yet to be fulfilled, he said we should remember he is not slow to act. Thanks for your contribution.

Education can't give you your gift, but it can help you develop it so that it can be used to the maximum. Proverbs 17:8 says, "A gift is as a precious stone in the eyes of him that hath it: whithersoever it turneth, it prospereth" (KJV). In other words, a gift is like a precious stone to the one who has it, and whenever he stirs it up, it turns into prosperity.
If you use your gift, it will prosper you.
