We have denied Jesus by choosing Barnabas before pilate, can we meet Him at the cross for His mercy and forgiveness.
Mark 15:11, 29-30, 39
But the chief priests moved the people, that he should rather release Barabbas unto them.
And they that passed by railed on him, wagging their heads, and saying, Ah, thou that destroyest the temple, and buildest it in three days,
Save thyself, and come down from the cross.
And when the centurion, which stood over against him, saw that he so cried out, and gave up the ghost, he said, Truly this man was the Son of God.
Influence has devastating affect on people with weak characters.
At the cross, we have two kind of people;
Those with repentant heart.
Those with a mockery heart.
Among other things, we should consider seriously the choice we make and those that influence our decision.
While at pilate's palace, we are brainwashed to choose a criminal over a saviour, but the truth still remains that our spirit can't lie to us, there is still that good part of you, that still tells you for sure, that this Man everyone is shouting kill Him! Kill Him!! Kill Him!!! doesn't deserve to be killed, it's natural to be influence by crowd or multitudes or leaders towards some certain decisions, that may not be attributed to our fault, but here lays your fault, "if you fail to meet Jesus Christ at the way to Calvary, the road to Calvary is lonely, on that road, there is no influence, there is no leaders, no multitudes - just you and your decision before Jesus Christ.
Are you going to wear the attitude of the thief at His (Jesus) left side, who asked Him, "if you are truly the Son of God, why not save yourself and save us too?" or are you going to recognize the spirit in Him, just like the one at His right hand, who quickly intercepted his fellow by saying; "Lord forgive me and remember me in your kingdom".
Do you come to Jesus Christ with another show - your - power question or you have come to say, father I am sorry, have mercy on me. It's your choice..
Judas betrayed Jesus and peter denied Him, the two above characters did something wrong to Jesus, but there is one thing that differentiate them and that's their decision when the multitudes were away from them.
Judas made a decision to hang himself, instead of going to Jesus Christ at the cross to receive forgiveness and mercy.
Peter at the other hand went to Jesus Christ and pleaded for mercy and forgiveness, and Jesus forgave him and blessed him more.
It's not the time to hang yourself, go Jesus Christ and obtain mercy at the cross.
All your sins will be forgiven, when you meet Jesus Christ at the cross.
Calvary is a place of forgiveness and mercy, at Calvary the soldiers who was the same as His tormentors confessed..."of the truth He is the son of God (mark 15:39)." what a confession!.
At the Pilate's palace, Jesus couldn't say a word, but at the Calvary, He said, "father forgive them for they don't know what they are doing".
There is mysteries at Calvary, do you want to see Jesus, rush down to the cross, He is waiting, with His arms opened wide on the cross.
Don't lost with the multitudes, come out of them and come to the cross for cleansing and acceptance.
Before pilate, there is no mercy, no truth, no justice, but before Jesus Christ there is mercy and salvation.
This is the time to come, make hey while the sun shine!.
Jesus love you.!
