Another classic conservative SirKnight rant titled: And they call it 'progress.'
Ladies and gentlemen of the SteemChurch,
'Peace be with you.'
It has been many sunsets since this Knight had a good 'conservative' rant. He is not sure what it was in particularly that brought the need for this about. However, it is something which must now be expressed, on a public blockchain and for eternity.
SirKnight calls this rant...
'And they call it progress.'
(A 1950s western perspective.)
This Knight considers the 1950s to be absolute peak of prosperity for western culture. It was a time when God, family and capitalism reigned supreme.
There were opportunities for all so long as you were willing to work. There was a community spirit. Respect for the respectable was the cultural norm, and it did not need to be enshrined in regulations. Governments sought to provide the infrastructure to enhance and protect society, not enslave and monitor it. The middle class thrived...
... and it was generally a much happier time for all!
So let us now examine this view.
Credit
In the 1950s a family could afford a house and a car with one income. Thanks to greedy bankers, their credit cards and their easy home loans, it now takes 2 incomes and a lifetime of debt to afford these two staples of happiness - and they call this 'progress'.
Pro-choice
Were a young girl to find herself unwed and pregnant in the 1950's, she would bring (short term) shame upon herself. At the same time she would bring a beautiful baby into the world, who would generally be loved by the family (perhaps even adopted by her own parents in secret). Today they simply murder the unborn baby - and they call this 'progress'.
Equality of the sexes
Regardless of what modern third wave feminists will have you believe, in the 1950s ladies could choose to stay home and raise a family, or they could choose to work, or they could choose to do both - and whatever their choice, at all times they were respected for this. These days our ladies are simply forced to work else face financial hardship or feminist insult - and they call this 'progress'.
Marriage
The 1950's was a time when the 'institute of marriage' was revered, respected and something which young people would strive towards. These days it is attacked by government, family law judiciaries and feminism. Married women are now considered a challenge for other men; and married men consider their vows to be optional. Divorce rates are now sky high - and they call this 'progress'!
In Summary
This Knight could go on and on with this 'and they call it progress' rant. Especially when it comes to education, government budgeting, political correctness and free speech censorship, infrastructure, community networks and the church. But he has made his point... for now.
For those on the progressive side of the fence - simply ask yourself... 'will these progressive movements really make you happy?'
For those like SirKnight, who desire liberty, freedom and a return to conservative values - consider; how do we begin to reinstate these values in our communities?
Do we wait for government to implement change on our behalf - or do we take up the crusade for change ourselves?
WILL YOU FIGHT FOR CONSERVATIVE VALUES IN OUR CRUSADE FOR FREEDOM?

The statists have spent decades destroying traditional family values as those values are anathema to those who wish for society be dependant on them.
‘Progressive politics’ is a classic case of Orwellian newspeak, there is nothing progressive about murder, immorality & sloth.

The Bible sheds light on this so-called "progress" ... science will increase but also evil will multiply. And not only of governments, but of every individual who does not submit to God his fallen nature.
I believe that because of the evil in the world many hearts have cooled, but we in the crusade for freedom can execute the word of God when it says that in this time: God will turn the hearts of parents to children and children to the parents. Where sin abounds, grace abounds. And we his children are the agents of change in this world.

This is a needed rant. Glad to see your views on these subjects. We live in a world of deceit where people pretend that these declines are progress, when they themselves know the truth. BTW we do not need to wait for government. As a popular musician once said, "they don't really care about us."
If we focus too much on these things, it may lead to depression. This is a time for us all to draw closer to God. He is definitely not happy with all these that is happening.
exactly apostol, the governments do not take care of us, yesterday the presidential elections took place in my country, and again the same candidate won. Here in my country everything is exaggeratedly costly. now I ask myself "this is progress"? or every time we sink deeper into poverty.
high divorce rate makes me want to believe that their is no love in this world again, people don't care about morals again and now bad things now seems now, seriously, we need change

Funny thing, yesterday evening while taking a shit I pondered about my prospect of getting married.
My parents are approaching Fifty years together and they've literally lived through for better or for worst. Sometimes they narrate their ordeals they've faced and how they came through it and still persevered.
I relate that to these days when its twice as difficult for a young man to make head way in life and a large population of women demanding this myth called "financial stability" to even consider you. It makes me fear for my future and how its going to be. Its really scary

These socialist governments are undermining the male role (resource / financial provider) in the family - there is no doubt about this.
Your saving grace however Belemo may actually be cryptocurrency. You can't build up your wealth in fiat any longer as governments worldwide print cash at a faster rate than you or I can save. So hodl, hodl as much as you can! This knight reckons that good hodlers will have no trouble catching birds in a few years.

What baffles me most about this so call progressive ideology is the high divorce rate. Do you call that progressive?
Gone are those days when couples lived happily together, the wife would respect her husband and keep her home no matter what.
What do we have now, a wife believing she is equal with her husband and women are now made to believe they can stay on their own without the husband. Hence, we have a high rate of divorce and a lot of single mothers.
We all need to join hands and fight for the conservative values in our crusade for freedom.

I agree with you Fatherfaith, however I would word it differently. Men and women are equal in value, but they are different - both physically and mentally. Which I think is what you meant. Generally speaking, a man on his own is weak. A woman on her own is weak. United however they can forge a strong unit which becomes even stronger with children. Governments know the power of the family and appear to be pulling out all stops to destroy it. Just as George Orwell surmised in his acclaimed novel '1984.'

The truth is.. we can't change the fact that progress has been made. The aspect of equality of sexes is a way to go! Africa women suffered alot back then.
But generally looking at it. It is beginning to fall apart. The fact that humans are not naturally moral beings is why! We have to retrace our steps in creating a world that suit just us. The selfishness is coming back to ruin us. Let us beginning from now!

Thank you for your honest reply omonosa, i don't know about other continents, but africa women have had their own share of slavery in the form of marriage, not to talk of the domestic violence faced "bill gates once said that if wealth were gained according to how hard you work, africa women would be the richest on earth"
This era might have changed in alot of aspects but africa women espercially has found their voice and will do everthing to stay liberated!!

Hello nice gentleman, really his words go much further, I have little time in Steemchurch but I have dedicated myself to follow him and read him, and his project of crusade for freedom caught me, and beyond all that has been raised and achieved .. .with the support of their Apostles, a task not easy but not impossible ... God does not abandon those who have in their hearts to make the world better and help those who are less privileged, thanks @sirknight because in this publication he leaves see a little more of your heart. I look at the mirror of the past and I think that I must live that time, where there was much more quality of life, practically the governments have transformed everything, "and call it progress" when in fact it is an imminent delay to humanity. excellent sermon, this should be on the website. www.steemchurch.net
I have an answer for its publication if its intention is to look for a why ,@sirknight, the answer is that humanity is far from God's way, we have lost our dependence on God and we have become independent in our own opinion, society now admires the bad and reject the good, great publication.
