It is only disciples that the Lord Jesus would teach the deep things of God. In Matt. 5:1-2, the Bible says,
”And seeing the multitudes, he went up into
a mountain; and when he was set, his disciples came unto him. And he opened his mouth and taught them saying...”

In Matt4:25, we are made to understand that great multitudes followed Jesus from Galilee,
Decapolis, Jerusalem, Judea and from beyond Jordan. As He saw the multitudes, He knew them. He knew all men. He knew that multitudes are not dependable. So He went up to a mountain and sat up there and as expected, His disciples came unto Him. Then He opened His mouth and taught them. Taught who? The disciples. All the deep teachings in the book of Matthew chapter 5,6 and 7 were given to disciples, not to uncommitted multitudes. The same thing happened in Matt 24, where Jesus spoke about the signs of the end time. At various times in the scriptures, Jesus spoke to the multitudes in parables so that the prophecy of Isaiah may be fulfilled,
”which sayeth, By hearing, ye shall hear and shall not understand; and seeing, ye shall see and shall not perceive,” (Matt.15:14)

Take the last supper as a study, Jesus didn't teach the sacrament to the multitude, he taught it to the disciples alone, within closed doors. When He rose from the dead, it wasn't the multitudes that received the Holy Spirit and spoke on tongues, it was the disciples, while the multitude witnessed the power of the Holy Spirit.

But to disciples He said,
”But blessed are your eyes, for they see; and
your ears, for they hear.... Because it is given
unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given” (Matt 13:16,")

You might have wondered why some people who came into the faith the same time with you, have progressed more than you in the knowledge and experience of things of God. The difference is that they are disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ while you are just one among the multitudes that keep following Jesus maybe just to catch some miracles and provisions for your immediate needs and go back again into the crowd. You need to establish a personal commitment unto the Lord Jesus Christ in discipleship. Depths of revelation are only given to disciples. Deep intimate experience of the life of Christ can only come unto you as you relate with Him as a disciple. May you learn this lesson once and for all and stop running your life as you want. Allow Jesus to sit on the throne of your life. It is only then you will see God’s reason for saving you becoming fulfilled in your life.

God’s eternal purpose for saving any soul is to make him to be conformed to the image of His son, Jesus Christ, in order that Christ might be the first born among many brethren. Discipleship is the only means designed by God to make that purpose fulfilled in the lives of men. It is God’s method designed to bring us into the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ. It is not a short process. It is a life-long relationship and as a raw material in the hands of the Lord, you will deliberately drop your personal program for your life and become an apprentice, a recruit of the Lord Jesus Christ. Discipleship is a voluntary and definite way for becoming like Jesus. It is then that God will start to order your life and arrange your environment according to His ordained pattern for you so that his purpose might be fulfilled.

Even though discipleship is a voluntary step, it is mandatory for any child of God who is looking forward towards becoming like Jesus, and who has a desire to partake of the kingdom of God as a fellow heir. There is no alternative.

@STEEMCHURCH

Even-though Discipleship is God’s method of raising His men, not every man is qualified to be a disciple. There are conditions to be fulfilled clearly stated in the scriptures. From generation to generation, His word remains the same. He does not lower His standard for any man no matter their excuses. And do not expect God to lower it for you either.

”And He said to them all, if any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross

daily, and follow me.” (Lk 925)

Inspiring.... And now Christ calls us to be his disciples so he can reveal unto us the deepest mysteries of God .. nice post

The deep things of the Lord are what we should aim for as christians who want to grow in the Lord.

Please also take a moment to read this post regarding bad behavior on Steemit.

Your post is amazing. It shows us that being a multitude and a disciple are two different things, and they each come with rewards, with the latter having the best reward. After reading your post, I don't wanna be among the multitudes. I want to be a disciple. And I'm sure everyone that comes across this post would feel.the same way too.

It gladens my heart that i was able to reach out to you

Despite the fact that Discipleship is God's technique for raising His men, only one out of every odd man is met all requirements to be a supporter. There are conditions to be satisfied unmistakably expressed in the sacred texts. From age to age, His assertion continues as before. He doesn't bring down His standard for any man regardless of their reasons. What's more, don't anticipate that God will bring down it for you either.

This is very important step in growing in the kingdom of God. Thanks @vic-thor

Thank you for introducing me to this wonderful community.

Some great and deep things here!

I love especially these points, but the entire message if those who the Lord confides in. The Disciple! The serious follower who is in this for Jesus.
You have the disciples, but there seems to be an even closer group in Peter, James and John. These are the ones who see His glory.
Refreshing post and solid teaching.
Thanks!
