YOU ARE THE DWELLING OF GOD

John 14:23 (KJV)
Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him

When parents are parting ways with their children, the reaction from the children is often that of displeasure, even when the departure is only temporarily. The companionship, guidance and resources that the parents supply make them feel insufficient without their parents. Coupled with the nostalgia, they feel insecure. This was exactly the reaction of the disciples when Jesus spoke to them about his impending departure to be with the Father. Jesus therefore assured his disciples that those who loved him and kept his words, he and the Father would come and make their abode in them. Here, Jesus revealed God’s intent for every man, that in Him no man should be alone, without companionship in this world.

These words of Jesus were fulfilled after he had gone to be with the Father in heaven. The Holy Spirit was sent by the Father to abide with you forever. God dwells in you by the Holy Spirit, making the riches of the finished works of Christ available to you. Everyone who has expressed faith in Jesus has this witness in himself, that he has become the abode of the Father.

Concerning the saints in Christ Paul wrote, “To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory” (Colossians 1:27). You are more than a victor because the hope of the glory which was set to come is now in you by the Holy Spirit. You are the abode of the Father, glory to the Lord forever! Can you ever be disadvantaged in any situation? Is there anything you cannot do or overcome? You can do all things because you have become the habitation of God. Hallelujah.

Have You Invited The Master Yet?

2 Now both Jesus and His disciples were invited to the wedding. 3 And when they ran out of wine, the mother of Jesus said to Him, “They have no wine” 10 And he said to him, “Every man at the beginning sets out the good wine, and when the guests have well drunk, then the inferior. You have kept the good wine until now.” Amen

Many of us have a lot of struggles in our walk with God. Sometimes, we assume that as Christians, God should step into our lives and cause things to flow the way we expect them to. However, it is sad to say that God does not deal with us that way.

Our complains, cries and struggles do not necessarily mandate God to act unless we officially invite Him. God expects us to invite Him into our situation; where we can hand over our many fears, struggles and doubts.

From the passage above, the Bible said both Jesus and His disciples were invited to the wedding. It is quite possible that there were many weddings during that time in Galilee. The only account we read of the Lord attending a wedding is this particular one that He was invited to.

And there at the wedding, the Lord Jesus supernaturally held held the forte together so that neither the couple nor the organizers were put to shame. Although He was invited as a guest, once the wedding organizers listened to His word and obeyed, Jesus became the best divine gift that happened to them all.

Precious One, you can extend an invitation to the Lord right now. He is ever ready to come in and fellowship with you. He says “Behold, I stand at the door and knock: If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me." (Revelation 3:20). Wow, what an opportunity

And you can see Beloved, that the best assurance from the passage is that the Lord stepped in right on time before the couple would be put to shame, and performed a mighty miracle; turning ordinary water into wine before the guests would even notice there was a shortage. Beloved, could it be therefore that we have not had the "best of our lives" because we haven't invited the Lord yet

Why don’t you let Him in today? Give Him the fragments of your broken life! Had over to Him your finances, marriage, academics, ministry and hopes. He knows the end of every matter right from its very beginnings. Also, He is able to keep all what we entrust to Him to the very end. That’s how we know all is well if Christ should step in your boat this very minute.

Begin to pray now and invite the Lord to take charge of everything in this new week and beyond. He will provide strength to carry us through the demands this week has to offer. He will lighten every burden we carry and give us rest on every side. We will never be the same again
