RE: SteemIt Uses Anonsteem For Account Creation?

in #steemdev7 years ago (edited)

Looks like @misterdelegation is an account they setup to be able to delegate some of the dormant SP they have. Not sure what the other account is, maybe just an account for them to help raise visibility on their own posts?

I'm going to bet both of these accounts are primarily existing for extra security within the organization.

  • steemit account (highest security) - account gets locked down, absolute cold storage
  • delegate account (high security) - is powered up and a select few people have access to delegate from,
  • promotion account (low security) - receives a delegation, and a different set of people have access to this account

Seems like a smart move!

Just figured using an in-house account (one other than steemit if you want split security), to perform the account creation would be wisest since that account would be the recovery-account.

I haven't had to utilize the recover-account so maybe there is a way to change it that I haven't ran into yet. Still seems a little interesting. Makes it where the relation to SteemIt is assumed but not known as fact.

I understand the use of the multiple accounts, though. It is indeed added security.
