Altit Fort: A Living Testament to a Thousand-Year-Old Legacy
Altit fort (قلعہ التیت) is an old stronghold in the Altit town in the Hunza valley in Gilgit Baltistan, Pakistan. It was initially home to the genetic leaders of the Hunza state who conveyed the title of 'Mir', despite the fact that they moved to the to some degree more youthful Baltit stronghold close by three centuries later. Altit Post and specifically the Shikari tower is around 1100 years old, which makes it the most established landmark in the Gilgit-Baltistan. The post has gotten the UNESCO Asia Pacific Legacy Grant for Social Legacy Protection in 2011
