Digital Art | Britholl, the Invincible Axe-Wielder 🪓

Good evening, my dear readers in the #Steemit community. I hope you’re all doing very well and, of course, having a wonderful and productive day. It’s your friend Manuel here again, and I’m thrilled to share a new artistic post on my blog with you.

Muy buenas noches mis queridos lectores y lectoras de la comunidad de #Steemit, espero que se encuentren muy muy bien, y que, por supuesto estén teniendo un maravilloso y productivo día, por aquí los saluda una vez más su amigo Manuel, super feliz de poder compartirles un nuevo post artístico para mi blog.

This time, I’m sharing an illustration in which I wanted to depict something like a warrior character, and what came to mind was creating this one, whom I decided to name (Britholl). Throughout his life, he has devoted himself to battle; when he was very young, he watched as his beloved father fought tirelessly, wielding his enormous axe—which his father had forged with his own hands. As the years passed and after his father’s death, it fell to Britholl to inherit the axe. He set out to travel the world in search of the fiercest and most powerful warriors and creatures to face them in combat, seeking to uphold his father’s legacy and honor the axe he inherited from him… I hope you really like this piece, and here I’ll leave you with a glimpse of the process so you can appreciate it better:

En esta oportunidad les traigo una ilustración en la cual quise ilustrar algo así como un personaje guerrero, y lo que se me ocurrió fue inventarme este al cual decidí llamar por el nombre de (Britholl), el cual durante toda su vida se ha dedicado a las batallas, cuando era muy pequeño veía como su querido padre luchaba incansablemente blandiendo su enorme hacha, la cual fue forjada su padre con sus propias manos; con el pasar de los años y luego de la muerte de su padre le toco a (Britholl) heredar el hacha, se dedico a recorrer el mundo buscando a los guerreros y criaturas más fieras y poderosas para medirse en combate contra ellos, buscando mantener en algo en nombre de su padre y hacerle honor al hacha que heredo del…espero les guste mucho esta obra, y aquí los dejare con un poco del proceso para que lo aprecien mejor:

PROCESS / PROCESO

Well, the first thing I did during the process of this drawing was to focus on creating the basic sketch. In this case, I drew him with a fairly stocky build, with large, muscular arms that convey his great strength, and right there resting on his shoulder as he holds it with his hand, I drew the large axe, which almost seems to be a part of him. Once I finished the sketch, I moved on to the coloring process. For the skin, I used a base of light red tones. At this stage, I used my airbrush and watercolor brush to work on the details of volume in the arms, chest, part of the face, and other areas.

Bueno, lo primero que hice durante el proceso de este dibujo fue dedicarme a la construcción del boceto básico, en este caso lo dibuje con una contextura bastante fornida, con brazos grandes y musculosos que denotaran su gran fuerza, y justo posado sobre su hombro mientras la sostiene con su mano dibuje la gran hacha, la cual es casi forma parte de el mismo. Habiendo terminando con el boceto continue con el proceso de coloreado, en este caso la piel la trabaje con una base de tonos rojos claros, en esta parte tome mi pincel de aerógrafo y mi pincel de acuarela para ir trabajando los detalles de volumen en la zona de los brazos, pecho, un poco del rostro y demás.

Since the character (Britholl) is a fierce and tough warrior, I came up with the idea of adding cuts and scars to his body as signs of countless battles. To do this, I used a couple of dark red shades to create a long scar running across the middle of his eye, as well as across his forehead. Next, when painting the eyes, I wanted to convey a serious and cold personality, which is why I painted them slightly narrowed at the outer edges. For the inner part, I used orange and yellow tones to add detail to the pupil and iris, thereby bringing life and personality to (Britholl).

Como el personaje de (Britholl), se trataría de un fiero y duro guerrero pues se me ocurrió la idea de agregar cortadas y cicatrices a su cuerpo, como signos de muchas y muchas batallas, para esto tome un par de tonos rojos oscuros y cree una cicatriz alargada que pasara por en medio del ojo, así como también en la frente. Después, para el pintado de los ojos lo que quería era trasmitir una personalidad seria y fría, es por eso que los pinte un poco entrecerrados en los bordes externos, y para la parte interna use tonos naranjas y amarillos para ir detallando un poco la pupila, iris, y así darle vida y personalidad a (Britholl).

For the hair, I wanted to experiment a bit with the colors and avoid traditional shades, so I opted for a range of navy blues to create a sort of Viking-style hairstyle just on the middle section of his head, with the hair falling over his shoulders; but I also wanted to complement the hairstyle by adding a long, thick, bluish beard with plenty of texture and volume on the sides. As for the construction of the large axe, I started by using a color palette with shades ranging from brown to red to work on the wood of the axe handle; then, for the axe blade, I used shades of blue, gray, and a little white; in this case, I only used flat brushes, working with slightly longer strokes, and for what would be the cutting edge of the axe, I used white tones with a bright effect to give the impression that the weapon is extremely sharp.

En el caso de la cabellera si quise jugar un poco con los tonos y no usar tonos tradicionales, así que mejor usé una gama de azules marinos para crear una especie de peinado con estilo Vikingo solo en la zona media de su cráneo, y que cayera sobre sus hombros; pero también quise complementar el peinado agregando una larga y poblada barba azulada con muchas textura y volumen hacia los lados. Con respecto a la construcción de la gran hacha comencé usando una paleta de colores con tonos entre marrón y rojos para trabajar la madera del mango o agarradero del hacha; después, para la hoja del hacha use tonos azules, grises y un poco de blanco, en este caso solo use pinceles planos, trabajando trazos un poco mas alargado, y para lo que seria el filo del borde del hacha use tonos blancos con efecto (bright) para dar la impresión que el arma esta super afilada.
