The Night of the Cosmos

This is a piece I thoroughly enjoyed creating, as it stemmed from an impulse to capture the immensity of the cosmos through a purely emotional and abstract lens. My intention wasn't to depict a precise star map, but rather the sense of wonder that arises when gazing upwards on a pitch-black night. I used a deep black background to establish an infinite void, allowing each stroke of color to act as a manifestation of energy or a distant nebula struggling to emerge from the darkness.

Technically, I sought a striking contrast between the lightness of the white dots (stars) and the density of the colored brushstrokes. The violet and ochre stones scattered throughout the piece are not merely accidental; They symbolize the continuous movement of the universe, like a cosmic breeze that unites everything. Using long, soft brushstrokes, I create a dreamy vibe, and tiny, moving lines suggest planets moving across the sky, adding a touch of life to the tranquil space.

The main focus is that green orb hanging in the lower right corner, which I wanted to function as a visual anchor, a nucleus of life, or a solitary planet shrouded in mystery. By signing the work in the lower corner, I close this personal journey through the void, leaving the viewer to lose themselves in textures and ambiguities of form. It is, in essence, my interpretation of cosmic solitude: a place where light, however small, always manages to find its way.
