Once the chores were done, I got ready and left the house with a determined mindset. The eagerly awaited get-together service for the last day of January 2026 had finally arrived, and I was eager to ensure everything went off without a hitch. This special event was organized by our congregation at the Presbyterian Church of Nigeria, Use Offot Congregation, Uyo Parish, aimed at uniting all members in love, unity, and thanksgiving.
When I arrived at the church, the atmosphere was already inviting and lively. The excitement was palpable as members greeted one another and shared smiles. Everyone contributed in various ways, demonstrating genuine dedication and a strong sense of family. The planning and teamwork were evident, demonstrating how God worked through each individual to ensure the program's success.
The get-together service was enriching and uplifting. We combined our voices in songs of praise, joyfully worshipping God. The sound of our singing filled the church, reminding us that when we come together in unity, God’s presence is always felt. We also took the time to share testimonies of God’s faithfulness—how He has protected, provided for, healed, and guided us through various challenges. Each testimony served as a potent reminder of God’s goodness towards us as individuals and as a church community.
What resonated most with me was the profound love among the members. There was no division or barriers—just a large family gathered in God’s presence. Laughter was abundant, conversations were heartfelt, and everyone felt light-hearted. It was a time to reconnect, uplift one another, and strengthen the bonds that unite us in Christ.
At the conclusion of the service, we shared food and drinks, savoring a meal together as one unified family. This simple act of dining together beautifully capped off the day. It symbolized unity, togetherness, and the joy of belonging. It was more than just a meal; it was authentic fellowship.
As the day wound down, my heart brimmed with gratitude. The long-planned get-together service had been a success, and all glory belongs to God. Saturday was far more than just any day—it was a reminder of the blessing of being part of a loving church family. May God continue to strengthen, unite, and bless us all. To God be the glory, now and forever.
