RE: How Curation Guilds Game the Systems and Direct Voting Bots to Selected Authors

in #steemicide8 years ago

Few things in clarification/response to the comments about me. First off, I appreciate being called clever, of course. ;) But I would like to address the hostility I seem to detect towards me. Oh and, I am a dude, not a she.

In regards to:

(got [him] a couple flags not sure why)

A few people follow me around and flag anything I do, because they don't like steemcleaners. No big deal.

When you say

Last summer [he] used [his] might to destroy an author because she didn’t like his posts.

I am not quite sure what you are referring to because I do not believe I have ever "destroyed an author", or at least, an actual author. I do target plagiarists, identity thieves, and fraudsters. So yes, if you are referring to a plagiarist I downvoted to oblivion, it's because I don't like plagiarism posts.

[he] bragged on other social networks

Also not sure what this is about or referring to? I was anonymous on steemit until Steemfest, so no one knew me on other social media sites anyways (and still don't, as very few people know my last name). I am also not sure what 'stir in the community' you are talking about, do you have a source?

Anyways, in regards to my voting bot: one of the express things I do is target undervalued posts that appear to be good quality. This is an interesting decision to curation because it means high risk - high reward. Essentially, I gamble on a post: giving the author a reward no matter what, and sometimes these posts go trending and I get a good curation reward. I actually AVOID targeting most authors whom always recieve good rewards, because of the 'race to the bottom' effect of bot voters. Due to avoiding the same big name authors, and finding undervalued posts, I am actually one of the largest voters towards 'unique authors' each day.

I truly am sorry i thought you were a girl. I can;t remember where i heard that, really some aid it in a comment long ago and i stuck with me.

And so flagging i think it had to do with the (@)dic.k butt. stuff.

And it was not meant to be a vicious attack just my observations and feelings.

Ah, interesting, because I actually was not the one who destroyed dickbutt. You can see dantheman downvoting him here: https://steemd.com/tx/b419b4d1b2cfcc98fe04df6bd48d9ac148079a30
This is what destroyed that robot.
It was downvoted by several other users as well (and actually, I was not part of it at all, it seems I never even downvoted it), likely because it was spamming posts where people did not want it.

Im sorry. for my misunderstanding. I don't know if i should go in and edit it all out or not. I was running off a faulty memory. I really wanted to highlight the curation leaders bots setting the path for other bots to follow suit. I should just edit it out?

Up to you if or how you want to edit it. Readers can see my response here if they choose!
Though editing she's to he's would be good. :)

i did that right away when it was mentioned. I will admit to my mistake in the post though I have never deleted anything i ever wrote before just fixed typos/ .

I will make it right. promise.

No problem, thanks for editing it!
