Flavorful emotions
What does sadness taste like to you? Does it represent a bitter, sweet, bland, sour, salty, or any other flavor you wish to describe? Justify your answer.
Sadness represents bitterness to me. We are in a world where humans struggle to be better person, but life shows us the other side in a bad way. Sadness will always be bitter, and we do not expect it to taste good.
Food that spoils is always tasteless, and even if you try to eat it, it will not fill your stomach because it is something disgusting. If a person feels sad or sick, that person will not be able to feel like eating food because, on such occasions, the food will be bitter, and the flavor will not be appreciated.
Of the flavors mentioned above, which flavor do you associate with joy and why? Describe a dish or dessert that you feel like eating when you are happy.
The food I associate with joy is rice and beans because it's my favorite dish that I always crave. Anytime I eat this food, my mind is always at peace, and I feel glad all the time. When I am happy, I prefer to cook this food at home alone because it is so delicious, and it also elevates my mood to a good position.
Sometimes, on occasions when rice and beans are usually served to guests, I will ask the server to give me this food because I know that whenever I consume it, I will be satisfied and the flavor will linger in my mouth.
Which flavor would you use to represent anger? Do you think that cooking while angry affects the flavor of the food prepared?
Atarodo, known as scotch bonnet pepper, is the hot spice that burns within us, especially if we add too much of it to our food without realizing. Some people may even become so angry that they throw the food away while eating it.
Anger, as the name implies, can affect the flavor of our food because too much pepper in the soup or food can impact our entire body system, causing those who consume it to start drinking a lot of water when it continues to taste hot. Becoming angry is not good because it can destroy everything we do, not just food.
They say that eating chocolate has an antidepressant, anti-sadness effect. Do you agree with this premise? Justify your answer.
Yes, of course. Eating chocolate will let our sadness go away, especially the cold one, because it helps our mind relax from something that is troubling us. Chocolate gives a unique taste as well as improves our mentality to the extent that we will not be able to think negatively.
Chilled chocolate 🍫, Viju, or candy is available in my country, where both young and old like it because it promotes togetherness within the family setting, and everyone will be able to have fun and be happy.
