Greetings and welcome to another week of healthy cooking and eating. It’s been an exciting week of learning.
Based on what you've learned in this class, what are the most recommended oils for cooking at high temperatures and why? Explain your answer.
From the class, The oils that are recommended for high temperature cooking are;
- Avacado oil
- Ghee oil
These oil are recommended for high temperature cooking because they have high smoking points.
Avacado oil has a smoking point of 271 degrees while ghee oil has a smoking point of about 252 degrees therefore they are suitable to use in high temperature cooking like frying, grilling and sautéing as they do not breakdown to produce harmful compounds when heated at a high temperature.

Procedure
I washed and boiled my eggs and potatoes | ![]() |

For the healthy dressing for my salad, I used: | ![]() |

- Salt
- Pepper and
- Olive oil
I added a pinch of salt, pepper and olive oil in a container | ![]() |

Based on the classes you've seen so far, how would you classify your salad: as a side dish or as a main dish? Explain your answer.
My salad is a healthy salad and contains the three macro nutrients which is carbohydrates, protein and fats. Because of the foods items I used which are readily filling, it can be eaten as a main dish and it can also be used as a side dish as one chooses.

You have made a very good salad and you said that we can use it as a main dish. You are right. We can definitely use it as a main dish and we can use it as a very nutritious dish because all the fruits that you have used in the salad are very nutritious and very nutritious for us.
