Matin Tea Stall

✓ Name, location, and opening hours of the hot drinks stall.

Today I will talk about a hot drinks stall in my local area called Matin Tea Stall. This tea stall is located inside the District Commissioner’s Office in Dinajpur city. Inside the office area there is an open place with many trees, so the environment around the stall is very beautiful and peaceful. Many people come to the District Commissioner’s Office for different official work. While waiting for their work to be completed, they often sit at this tea stall to relax, chat, and spend some time. There are enough seating arrangements so visitors can sit comfortably, talk with friends, and enjoy a cup of tea. The tea stall is open from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Since it is located inside a government office, most people come here during office hours, so the stall also stays open during that time.

✓ Describe the products, their quality, and prices.

Since it is a tea stall, tea is the main drink sold here. Besides tea, there are also some snacks available such as biscuits, bread, cake, and bananas. I noticed that this shop offers different types of biscuits and bread. The quality of the food is quite good. I personally drank tea and ate bread here, and it tasted good to me. Because it is a tea stall, the tea must be good; otherwise, people would not come here to drink it. The sellers always try to make good tea so that more customers will visit their stall, especially because there are other stalls nearby. Naturally, the stall that makes the best tea gets more customers. The prices are also very cheap. Bread costs 5 Taka, cake 10 Taka, biscuits 5 Taka, and tea 10 Taka. In my opinion, the prices are very affordable, so anyone can come here to enjoy tea and snacks while spending time with friends.

✓ Payment methods.

This is a small tea stall, and it is usually managed by people with limited formal education. Because of this, customers usually pay in cash after eating or drinking. Also, since the prices of the items are very low, there is no need for digital payment systems. Most transactions here are simply done with cash.

✓ Other points that you think are important to mention.

When I drank tea here, I noticed something interesting. In many other tea stalls, the tea is prepared earlier and kept inside a flask, then poured into cups when customers order. However, in this stall, the kettle is always on the stove, and tea is prepared fresh for customers. I really liked this because fresh tea tastes better. Another good thing is that many stalls serve tea in plastic cups, which are not good for health, but here they serve tea in glass cups, which is much better. Since the kettle stays on the stove all the time, the tea is always hot and fresh. Sometimes in other stalls ready-made tea becomes cold and it does not taste good anymore, but here the tea stays hot.

✓ Details about its structure, environment, service, and others.

This is a small tea stall made with bamboo poles and a tin roof to protect from sun and rain. Even though the structure is simple and not decorated, the environment is very pleasant. Because it is inside a government office area, there are many trees and open spaces around it, which makes the place very calm and enjoyable for drinking tea and relaxing. The owner and workers are very friendly and polite with customers. Their service is good. I also noticed that after every use the glass cups are carefully washed and cleaned before serving the next customer. This is very important because drinking tea in dirty glasses can be harmful to health.

✓ What is your favorite hot drink (for example: coffee, tea, chocolate, or infusions) and how often do you drink it?

My favorite hot drink is tea. I really enjoy drinking tea, but I do not drink it all the time. I usually drink tea when I go outside or when I sit with friends and chat. Tea and conversation together create a wonderful moment. When my friends and I gather, we almost always drink tea while chatting, and without tea our gathering feels incomplete. Usually I drink tea twice a day, once in the morning and once in the evening. Drinking tea in the morning makes me feel fresh and helps clear my throat after waking up. In the evening when I go outside I often drink a cup of tea which helps remove the tiredness of the whole day. However, I try not to drink more than two or three cups of tea a day because too much tea is not good for health, especially since it often contains sugar. Sometimes I try to drink tea without sugar to make it healthier.

✓ Do you like to accompany your drink with any special food (such as cookies, bread, or cake), or do you prefer to enjoy it alone?

I really enjoy eating bread and biscuits with tea. It is difficult to explain how delicious it feels. Most of the time when I drink tea, I also eat biscuits or bread. These foods are a little hard, but when they are dipped into tea they become soft and juicy. When you put them in your mouth, they melt easily and give a wonderful taste. At this stall there were many kinds of biscuits and bread. I drank tea with bread and two biscuits. Many people like dipping biscuits or bread into tea while drinking it, and it can almost be considered a small traditional habit in our culture. However, when I drink black tea without milk, I usually do not eat biscuits or bread with it because they taste better with milk tea.

✓ Does this shop offer any special or seasonal drink that cannot be found in other places, or does it only sell traditional options?

This stall does not offer any special or seasonal hot drinks. They mainly sell regular tea, which is the same kind of tea we find in most local stalls. Since the stall is located in a busy government office area, many people come and go throughout the day, so the sellers do not have much time to prepare special drinks. Instead, they focus on selling simple tea, biscuits, cake, and bread. By selling these items they earn their daily income and support their families. Every day they buy the necessary products and sell them during the day to make a living.
