Raju Chotpoti Corner

✓ Name, location, and schedule of the soup stall

The chotpoti shop I have chosen is called Raju Chotpoti Corner. It is a well-known chotpoti shop located in the Islampur area of Parbatipur town. The shop is situated right in front of the mosque in that area. To get there, you can take a van from Parbatipur Railway Station, which costs around 5 taka. The shop remains open from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM, although on some days it closes earlier because they shut down once their raw ingredients run out.

✓ Details of products, quality, and price

This shop offers items like fuchka, chotpoti, egg, chola, and different kinds of pickles such as tamarind pickle, jujube pickle, olive pickle, and hog plum pickle. The quality of all the food items is very good. The owner carefully prepares the food through his staff to maintain quality, as good food helps avoid stomach problems. For this reason, the shop is managed in a clean and hygienic way. The prices are also quite affordable. A plate of chotpoti costs between 30 to 50 taka, a plate of fuchka costs about 50 taka, and you can also get it for 30 taka if you want. Pickles are available at around 10 taka in good quantity.

✓ Payment methods

Since this is a small chotpoti and fuchka stall, there is no digital payment system available. Cash is mainly used for payments after eating. I have always seen customers paying in cash. However, if someone does not have cash but has money in mobile banking, they can send money to the owner’s personal Nagad or bKash account.

✓ Other relevant points

Another important aspect I have noticed is the environment of the shop. It is located in a pleasant place, and there are proper tables and chairs for customers to sit and eat comfortably. One special thing is that clean drinking water is available, which is not common in many small food stalls. The food and water are both kept clean to ensure customers do not face any health issues.

✓ Details about structure, environment, and service

The shop is built in a simple way using bamboo, with cloth covering on the top and around the sides, allowing customers to sit and enjoy their food comfortably. The service is also very good, as the staff serve food with care and maintain friendly behavior with customers, which helps attract more people to the shop.

Me in the stall

✓ If you had the opportunity to enjoy any soup or broth at this stall, describe your experience. If not, tell us: which soup or broth offered there would you like to try?

I have eaten chotpoti and fuchka at this shop, but I liked the chotpoti the most. Chotpoti is one of my favorite foods. The chotpoti here includes egg, which makes the taste even better. First, I went to the shop and ordered chotpoti, then I sat there and took some photos to share. After that, I noticed that they prepared the chotpoti very carefully. The chotpoti was made using lentils, lentil broth, egg, salad, tamarind sauce, and other ingredients. At that moment, I understood that it would taste very good, and it really did.I enjoyed a delicious plate of chotpoti after a long time, and I liked it very much. After finishing my meal, I also took some extra chotpoti in a bag to bring home so that I could eat it later.

My favourite chotpoti

✓ What is your favorite soup or broth after a long day, and how often do you consume it?

I really like eating dal chotpoti. Dal chotpoti is one of my favorite foods. Whenever I go to the market, I always try to eat dal chotpoti. It is part of my regular food habits. I especially enjoy this food during winter. In the cold season, hot dal-based chotpoti tastes very good to me, and it is also sold more during that time. The egg added to it provides nutrition to our body, which makes it even better. Whenever I eat chotpoti, I always try to have it with egg. Chotpoti made with egg tastes very delicious. Every few days, when I go to the market and see a chotpoti shop, I usually go there and enjoy chotpoti with my friends.

✓ Do you accompany your soup with any special ingredients (arepa, bread, lemon, spicy sauce)?

In our country, many ingredients are used to prepare chotpoti. When visiting chotpoti shops, we can see that they mix a variety of food items together with the chotpoti. These ingredients include different kinds of pickles, onions, chilies, salt, tamarind sauce, carrots, and cucumbers. When all these are combined with chotpoti, the taste becomes much better. When I eat chotpoti, I usually ask for all these ingredients in balanced amounts. However, my favorite ingredient is tamarind sauce. Ripe tamarind is soaked in water and softened to make a kind of broth, which is used in preparing chotpoti. I really enjoy the taste of this tamarind sauce. So whenever I go to a shop to eat chotpoti, I always ask them to add extra tamarind sauce because it is my favorite. Adding tamarind sauce to chotpoti gives it an amazing and delicious flavor.
