I visited Amit Sweets, a small chocolate outlet in Pallavpuram Phase 2, Modipuram. It's an okay spot run by a friendly husband wife team, with a simple setup but impressive shelves lined with popular chocolates and a few tables for quick bites.

As I stepped in, I was greeted by the owner Amit who was talking on the phone. He smiled and showed me their specialties creamy milk chocolates, dark ones with nuts, and fruity varieties like mango and strawberry, all fresh from their kitchen. His wife was actively serving the customers, so I asked her to give me chocolates, milk and bread.

The prices are pocket-friendly; however, most of their products are branded, so they give them as per the print price.

I bought a few like hazelnut and almond bark and got them packed for a neighborhood kid, as I am past the choco-age. My wife eats nothing sweet apart from real nut crunch. I saw a few chocolate-covered dry fruits, cashews, and raisins coated perfectly.

Oh yes, they even have sugar-free options for health-conscious people like my wife, but she prefers to pick her own.

Besides Amul milk chocolate, the Hazelnut Truffles and Almond Bark at Amit Sweets caught my eye most during my visit.

The truffles gleamed glossy dark, tempting with their nutty promise. I noticed their perfect dome shape, dusted in cocoa powder, smelling richly of roasted hazelnut. The bite is perfect creamy, crunchy bits, with a great balance.

Almond Bark slabs with chunky almonds but kind of bittersweet chocolate, rustic, but I know the children feel nostalgic and become kind of addictive. Besides a lots of pots and trays displayed different low priced items on the counters, so picking was easy besides the costlier ones in fridges and shelves especially designed for them.

Amit Sweets is a small shop yet full of variety, and what I like most is that the couple keeps chatting about local matters. The shelves are great with all kind of chocolates, toffes and sweets that attract children as well as aged people like me.

I love Amul chocolates for a long time probably since its conception, as its first bite gives me a perfect creamy and milky taste. It fills my mouth with mild sweetness and a hint of vanilla, as it melts slowly, leaving a comforting afterglow. Oh yes, it reminds me of milk toffees we used to eat at our childhood picnics. They also had Amul Coca-inspired variants with fizzy twists and nut boosts, but the plain milk is my first choice.

Another mouthwatering question because my favorite dessert where chocolate is available is Chocolate Lava Cake, which is kind of gooey and indulgent, that I feel is impossible to resist even at my age.

I can imagine you smiling when I describe this warm, fudgy cake with a crisp edge, even cracked as it reveals its molten chocolate. However, I prefer vanilla as it melts together in creamy contrast.

And yes, the other one is the chocolate, which is intense, bittersweet, and mostly dark cocoa, but if I move from milk to cocoa, then it makes no difference even if that happens rarely now. I enjoy every bit of it with a gush of warmth, enjoying its richness and sweetness.

Thankfully Amit Sweets' truffles inspire me, so I visit this store once in a while for my favorite Amul dark chocolates and desserts, especially when I am treating my friends and relatives. I suggest you try lava cakes with coffee for a different feeling of taste. I am sure if you're a fan of chocolates, this dessert will be fun. I wish I were a few years younger so as to avoid my doctor's suggestions to stay away from sweets and cakes.
