💕💗 السلام علیکم to all Friends 💕💗! |
Hi everyone. Especially to our wonderful moderators and fellow Steemians! |
Today friends I tried making a delicious and healthy dish at home. Which is not only delicious in taste. But also light and easy to digest. Steamed vegetable momos is a dish. Which is slowly becoming popular in Pakistan. Made with fresh vegetables this dish is not only healthy but also liked by people of all ages. Especially when they are served with a hot and spicy chutney their taste is enhanced. Homemade momos are not only clean but also have a special sense of belonging.

List the varieties of steamed momos available in your region. Which one is your favorite and why?
There are different types of steamed momos available in my area which vary in taste and filling. The most popular are vegetable momos. Which use cabbage carrots and capsicum. Apart from this chicken momos are also very popular. Which are soft and juicy. Some people also enjoy beef momos because they have a richer taste. Nowadays cheese momos and spicy momos are also becoming quite popular especially among the youth. Although fried and tandoori momos are also available. Steamed momos are considered healthier. My favorite type is vegetable steamed momos because they are light healthy and easily digestible. They have the taste of fresh vegetables. Which is not only delicious but also good for health. Their taste is enhanced when they are accompanied by a spicy chutney. Which is why I always prefer vegetable momos.

Make the Vegetable Momos or any steamed momos that are shared in the course, or make them as per your style, with a detailed step-by-step procedure along with images.

- Guys first I started preparing the dough for making momos. To make the dough. I took two cups of flour and added two tablespoons of cumin seeds to it. Put half a tablespoon of ghee to it and mix it well. Add some water and make a dough. I prepared the dough first to make our fillings. So that it would set well and nothing would break while making the momos.

Now I started making momos filling. And here are the ingredients used in this filling.
| Sr | Ingredients | Quantity |
| 1 | Carrot 🥕 | 2 |
| 2 | Onion 🧅 | 3 medium size |
| 3 | Chopped green chilli and coriander | 3 tablespoon |
| 4 | Capsicum | 2 medium size |
| 5 | Cabbage | 1 normal size |
| 6 | Red chilli powder | 1 tablespoon |
| 7 | Chilli flakes | 1 tablespoon |
| 8 | Salt 🧂 | According to taste |
| 9 | Soya & chilli sauce | 2,2 tablespoo |
| 10 | Cumin powder | 1 teaspoon |
| 11 | Dried coriander powder | 1 teaspoon |
| 12 | Black pepper powder | 1 teaspoon |
| 13 | Ghee | As needed |

- I peeled the onions and chopped them. I also chopped the coriander and chopped the green chillies. I also cut the capsicum into thin small pieces. Peel and grate the carrots and cut the cabbage into thin slices.

- I put the frying pan on the stove and turned on the flame. And added two tablespoons of ghee. Then I added the chopped onions to it. Fried them for a while then added all the vegetables. I fried the vegetables well with onions. Then added all the spices to it. I have mentioned the quantity of all the spices in the list above. You can add according to your taste.

- After adding the spices I added two tablespoons of butter. And sautéed the vegetables and spices well with the butter. Then I added two tablespoons of soya and chilli sauce to them. Then I let them cook on low for five minutes.

- After about five minutes. The fillings of the momos were done and ready. Then I added green chillies and chopped coriander leaves to it. Mixed it well turned off the flame and kept the filling to cool.

- I had been kneading the momos dough for about half an hour. Then I made small round balls of it and then made thin round rotis of it.

- After that the filling had cooled down. Then I added the filling to them one by one. I made them into round shapes and prepared all the momos.

- Now it's time to steam the momo. So for that I took water in a pan. Placed it on the stove and turned on the flame. When the water got hot I placed a stand in it. On top of the stand I placed a steel plate. On top of the steel plate I had applied ghee. And after that I placed the mousse on it and covered it and kept it for steaming. I kept the momos on the steamer for about 20 to 25 minutes. And during this time I lifted the cover and applied ghee on them with the help of a brush. So that they cooked well and after 20 to 25 minutes. My delicious and tasty momos were ready.

Hi friend.
I've looked at your recipe in detail and it seems easy to prepare. Well, some ingredients are easy to find, others not so much. What I liked most was seeing how you gave it that pretty rolled shape, or as it's called, but they look like a delicate and elegant treat to enjoy with friends or alone, hehehe. I wish you success in this challenge; it's very well explained.
