"SLC31-W3" // "The Gastronomic Sweet Route" - Traditional Sweet Shop .

Assalamu Alaikum everyone.

One evening, I was walking near the kacha bazar in Uttar Badda. Suddenly, I noticed a brightly lit sweet shop called Raiyan Confectionery & other one is Rosher Mishti. There were several people buying sweets from the shop, which made me curious. So, I decided to go inside and take a look. The Bakery was also good.

Name, Location, and Opening Hours

The shop is called Raiyan Confectionery . It has two sections inside, one for confectionery items and another for traditional sweets. The shop is located at Kacha Bazar, Satarkul Road, Uttar Badda, Dhaka. It stays open from morning until late at night. In the evening, the shop becomes quite busy, which shows its popularity in the area.

Sweets, Quality, and Price

As soon as I entered, I saw many types of sweets neatly displayed in a glass showcase. There were gulab jamun, kalojam, white rasgulla, yellow laddu, coconut-coated chomchom, sandesh, and more. All of them looked fresh and attractive.

I bought a laddu and tasted it. It was really delicious. The inside was soft, and the outside had a slightly grainy texture, which reminded me of homemade sweets. The prices are also affordable. Most sweets cost between 15 to 30 BDT per piece.

Payment Methods

You can pay here using cash. They also accept mobile banking methods like bKash and Nagad. I paid in cash, and everything went smoothly.

Other Notable Points

Since the shop is inside the kacha bazar area, it is very convenient for people who come for daily shopping. Along with sweets, you can also find biscuits, chips, and other confectionery items. There is also an oven inside, so sometimes you can get freshly made warm sweets.

Structure, Environment, and Service

The inside of the shop is clean and well-organized. The white tiled floor makes the place look neat. The large glass showcase allows customers to easily see all the sweets. The shopkeeper was friendly and spoke politely, which made the experience even better.

However, the road in front of the shop is a bit muddy during rainy days, which can make walking slightly difficult. Still, the taste of the sweets makes up for this small inconvenience.

Which sweet would I share with a Steemian friend?

If I had the chance to share a sweet from this shop with a Steemian friend, I would definitely choose laddu. I personally tried it, and it tasted really good. The soft inside and slightly grainy outside texture make it very enjoyable. I believe anyone would like it.

Three Traditional Sweets in My Area

In my area, Uttar Badda, three very popular traditional sweets are:

Rasgulla is a soft, round sweet made from chhena and soaked in sugar syrup. It is very common at celebrations. Price: around 30 BDT per piece. Kalojam is A dark brown sweet made from chhena and flour, then soaked in syrup. It is juicy and very tasty. Price: around 30 BDT per piece. Chomchom is a long-shaped sweet made from chhena and covered with grated coconut. It has a unique taste and is loved by many. Price: around 50 BDT per piece.

My Preference

Personally, I prefer buying sweets from local shops like Raiyan Confectionery. Big brand shops may look more attractive, but sometimes they lack that homemade taste. Local shops often provide fresher sweets with a more authentic flavor. Also, the prices are usually more reasonable.

I would like to invite three of my friends to participate in this contest: @jimiaera02, @chefroshnay, @sualeha.
