Slow-Cooked Milk Kheer with Almond Garnish”

A hearty welcome to all my dear Steemians. I hope you are all doing well and having a wonderful day. I am happy to share my recipe with all of you. I am very grateful for this opportunity to share my homemade dishes and creativity. I prepared a sweet and traditional dessert Kheer. It was made with gritted carrots, rice and milk. It is slowly cooked to perfection. I added almonds and raisins. This made it even more flavorful and aromatic. This dessert was prepared with simplicity, love and care. So guys let’s keep supporting and inspiring each other.
The Ingredients Which I Used For This :

Procedure :

First of all I added water to a large pan and placed it on the stove. When the water became slightly warm. I washed the rice thoroughly. Then added it to the pan. The rice was then cooked on a medium flame until it softened well. In fact today marks the 11th Sharif according to the Islamic calendar. So this kheer was prepared especially for Khatam. I made it with a pure intention and love. This kheer turns out extremely delicious and flavorful.

While the rice was cooking. I started grating the carrots. I added 2 kilograms of carrots. So I had to grate all of them myself. Honestly grating the carrots was very difficult and tiring for me. But I still had to do it. During this process I deeply missed my brother. The last time I made carrot halwa he grated all the carrots for me. He always takes great care of us in such tasks. Nowadays he is in Saudi Arabia. Then while grating the carrots today I missed him a lot.

When the rice was fully cooked. I added milk to the pan. I used approximately 10 kilograms of milk for this recipe. This entire method of making kheer was learned from my mother. I always prepare kheer exactly the way she taught me. After adding the milk. I mixed everything well. I let it cook for a while. So the flavors could blend beautifully.

After cooking it for a while. I added two kilograms of sugar to the kheer. I mixed it well. I cooked it for about two to three minutes. After that I added the grated carrots and continued cooking it properly. This kheer is always cooked on a high flame. It helps it reach the perfect texture and taste.

After that I added the almonds to the kheer. I cooked it on a high flame for about 1 to 1.5 hours. I cooked it carefully. I am making sure to stir well and not overcook it. So that it would not become too thick or hard.
Then I garnished it with the remaining almonds and raisins. I took some photos from different angles which I am now sharing with you. The pictures is really beautiful.
