I’m Arsalan Khatri from Pakistan, and I hope you’re all doing well. I’m back with another exciting Recipe of the Day – Week 86. Today’s feature is a rich and flavorful Bihari Beef Curry — a traditional dish known for its tender beef cooked with aromatic spices, yogurt, fried onions, and mustard oil. This curry brings deep, smoky flavors and a melt-in-the-mouth texture, making it perfect to enjoy with naan, roti, or steamed rice.

Ingredients

Ingredient Quantity
Meat (Gosht) 750 grams
Cooking oil 1 cup
Ghee (Masla) As needed
Onion 3 pieces
Garlic & Ginger paste 2 tablespoons
Tomatoes 6 pieces
Yogurt 250 grams
Salt To taste
Turmeric powder To taste
Coriander powder To taste
Cumin powder To taste
Red chili powder To taste
Green chili 2 pieces
Fresh coriander For garnish

Cooking Procedure

🔥 Step 1: Fry the Basics

Start by pouring oil into a pan. Add whole spices and the meat. Fry them well, then toss in chopped onions and sauté until golden.

🧄 Step 2: Spice It Up

Mix in ginger-garlic paste, chili powder, and tomatoes. Cook thoroughly until the oil separates and the masala is aromatic.

🥛 Step 3: Simmer with Yogurt

Add yogurt and two glasses of water. Let it simmer on medium heat for about 1.5 hours until the meat becomes tender and flavorful.

🌶️ Step 4: Final Touch

Once the meat is soft, add 2 whole chilies. Prepare a smoky tempering with coal (koila ka bhagar) and pour it over the dish. Your rich, flavorful meat curry is ready to serve!
