I’m Arsalan Khatri from Pakistan, and I hope you’re all doing well. I’m back with another exciting Recipe of the Day – Week 88. Today’s feature is a wholesome and flavorful Chickpeas Recipe — a classic dish made with tender chickpeas cooked in a rich blend of onions, tomatoes, and aromatic spices. This comforting and nutritious recipe is perfect for everyday meals and goes wonderfully with naan, roti, or steamed rice.

Required Ingredients for making Recipe

Ingredients

Ingredient Quantity
Chicken 250 grams
Onion 3 pieces
Chickpeas 250 grams
Tomatoes 4 pieces
Green chilies 3 pieces
Ginger-garlic paste 2 tablespoons
Salt 1 teaspoon
Turmeric powder 1 teaspoon
Coriander powder 1 teaspoon
Red chili powder 1 teaspoon
Cooking oil For frying

🍳 Cooking Procedure 🫕

Step 1: Boiling the Chickpeas

First, take a pot and place it on the stove. Add the chickpeas and boil them until they become soft.

Step 2: Frying the Onions

In a separate pan, add cooking oil and then add chopped onions. Fry the onions until they turn golden brown.

Step 3: Adding Ginger & Garlic

Once the onions are golden, add ginger-garlic paste and mix well to release the aroma.

Step 4: Cooking the Chicken

Now add the chicken meat to the pan and cook it thoroughly until it changes color.

Step 5: Adding Tomatoes & Spices

Add chopped tomatoes and the four spices. Mix well and cook until the oil starts to separate.

Step 6: Simmering the Curry

Pour in 2 glasses of water and let the curry cook on medium heat for about 30 minutes.

Step 7: Adding Chickpeas & Green Chilies

When the water dries, bhunao (fry) the masala well. Add half a glass of water, green chilies, and the boiled chickpeas. Mix everything properly.

Final Step: Garnishing & Serving

Garnish with freshly chopped coriander leaves. Your delicious chickpeas recipe is now ready to enjoy!
