Indian Dhokla Recipe
Today’s recipe is Indian Dhokla – a soft, fluffy, and delicious steamed snack that is loved across the Indian subcontinent. Dhokla is a traditional dish made from fermented gram flour, known for being light, healthy, and easy to digest.
This recipe is simple to prepare and absolutely irresistible, making it perfect for breakfast, tea-time, evening snacks, or even as a light meal.
Prepared with gentle spices and tempered with mustard seeds, curry leaves, and green chilies, Indian Dhokla is not only flavorful but also nutritious and wholesome, making it an excellent choice for healthy eating and cozy winter days
Ingredients
To prepare soft, fluffy, and delicious dhokla, you’ll need the following simple ingredients. Each one plays an important role in bringing out the authentic taste and perfect texture of this classic dish.

| Pearl millet flour (Bajra flour) | 1 kg |
| Gram flour (Besan) | ½ kg |
| Wheat flour | ½ kg |
| Green chilies | 7 pieces |
| Green onions with leaves | 250 g (¼ kg) |
| Garlic | 1 whole bulb |
| Ginger | As needed |
| Salt | 2 teaspoons |
| Crushed red chili | 2 teaspoons |
| Baking soda | 2 teaspoons |
| Whole coriander seeds | 2 teaspoons |
| Cumin seeds (white) | 2 teaspoons |
| Fresh coriander leaves | As needed |
| Fresh mint leaves | As needed |
| Vegetable ghee | 2 tablespoons |
Cooking Procedure
Step 1: Chopping
First, put the garlic, ginger, green chilies, coriander, and mint into a chopper machine and finely chop them.
Step 2: Mixing Flours and Spices
Add millet flour, gram flour, and wheat flour into a bowl and mix well. Add all the spices, then add the chopped mixture from the chopper.

Step 3: Kneading
Now add finely chopped green spring onions, mix everything well, and knead it into a dough.

Step 4: Shaping
Shape the mixture into donut shapes and place them on a separate plate for cooking.

Step 5: Cooking
Take a pot and add one glass of water. Pour this water over the prepared donuts and leave it on low heat for 1 hour.
