Contest: Crazy for French Fries

Today I wanted to write for this contest that is running by @crismenia , here is the link if you are also interested:
When I think back about the time when I first tasted Fries it was very long ago and it was my grandmother who prepared herself from fresh potato. I was very excited when I was sitting with my granny and helping her to peel off the potatoes. We decided to prepare the dinner for our family, my parents were at work and we wanted to do them surprise. Once we have peeled off the skin we had only big potatoes, there were about 10 of them, my grandmother asked if I want just like sticks or wavy edges. She had such special knife and of course, I decided to choose wavy Fries. My grandmother had added some herbs and also vegetable oil but we decided to use oven. The French fries were absolutely delicious. Since then when I was visiting my grandmother that was our favourite dish that I could eat without anything just potato sticks, I called them like that.
Now many years since that time and it is still my favourite dish. I remember that I asked my grandmother her recipe and it is still in my book that is handwritten by my grandmother. Also since then every time when I travel I try different type of French fries. Over here in UK, it is often added to different dishes like cheeseburger or chicken burger with chips, by the way they are often here called chips. Also, another favourite combination is fish and chips. I love chips but fish is often too fatty for me so I am not the fan of it. I remember the last one that we tried in one restaurant it was very large portion so that I had to take almost a half of it home because it was too much. Later on I enjoyed the rest at home.
