My new discovery - Nut cake

 

• My first experience with cakes

 

Since I was a little girl I always loved different types of cakes. The first cake ever was one that my grandma baked with me and it was a simple sponge cake with some chocolates. I remember very well how we were weighing the amount of necessary flour and I always played a game with my granny blowing away flour so that everything is covered in white. Of course, my granny was “angry”, I do not think she was really angry but she wanted to show up to me and I had fun, was laughing the whole time. I even can not remember what I enjoyed more cooking or making my granny “angry”.

Since then baking for me is very special, I do not bake regular but every time when I do I am returned into time of my childhood.

For me, cake is always well combined with nice strong black tea with a bit of milk. I usually make my tea from nice leaves and using a filter, I let it brew for about 2 minutes and then remove my filter because otherwise it is too strong.

Cakes are very good for any occasion, of course, birthday as well as the holidays like Easter, Christmas are great event for special cakes. I do not like experimenting much but I usually take a cake that I can do and already have done couple of times before.

 

• My new favourite: Nut cake

 

Like I said I am a big fun of different cakes and one of them I recently learnt from my colleague. Actually she brought it to our team and said that her mother usually bakes cakes at least once a week and this time she decided to bake for us and it was nut cake. Understandably, it is not for everyone because there are always some people who have Nut allergy but luckily I do not have any problem with it.

When I tasted Nut cake first time I just fell in love with this cake and asked for recipe. I tried it at home and it was delicious. To tell the truth I did not prepare that cake for a long time because just no time but while writing this I recalled how much I would love to have Nut cake again. So that is do to plan for near future.
