नासा के अनुसार अन्तरिक्ष में करीब 14000 ऐसे ऑब्जेक्ट हैं जो कि पृथ्वी के बहुत ही पास में मौजूद है, और इनमें से अधिकतर एस्ट्रॉयड में कई मूल्यवान धातु मौजूद हैं, जिनकी मांग हमारी धरती पर बहुत ज्यादा है। मार्स और जुपिटर के बीच मौजूद एस्ट्रॉयड बेल्ट में करीब 20, 00000 से अधिक एस्ट्रॉयड 1 किलोमीटर से अधिक डायमीटर वाले मौजूद हैं और इन्मे लगभग लाखों छोटे एस्ट्राइड भी हैं, इन सब का मूल्य करीब 700 quantrilion यूएस डॉलर यानी 70,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,000 है।

एस्ट्रॉयड में ढेर सारा पैसा है पर उनको लाना भी कोई आसान काम नहीं है। एस्ट्रॉयड में कई ऐसी धातु मौजूद होती है जो कि धरती पर काफी रेयर हैं, जैसे कि गोल्ड, सिल्वर और सबसे महत्वपूर्ण प्लेटिनम। प्लेटिनम हमारी धरती में काफी रेयर है, लेकिन आज के सारे इलेक्ट्रॉनिक डिवाइस में इसका उपयोग होता है, आपके हाथ में जो मोबाइल फोन है उसमें भी यह धातु मौजूद है।

जुलाई 2015 को एक एस्ट्रॉयड जिसका कोड नेम 2011 यू डब्लू 158 है वो हमारे धरती के काफी नजदीक से गुजरा था, करीब 24,00000 किलोमीटर की दूरी से। वैज्ञानिकों के अनुसार इस एस्ट्रॉयड के कोरा में 90,00000 टन प्लैटिनम तथा और भी अन्य मुल्यावान धातु मौजूद थे। वैज्ञानिकों ने अनुसार यह प्लेटिनम युक्त एस्ट्रॉयड करीब 540,00,00,00,00,000 यूएस डॉलर का था। यानी यह एक सिंगल एस्ट्रॉयड ही किसी व्यक्ति को ट्रिलिनियर बनाने की शक्ति रखता है।

लेकिन 15 फरवरी 2013 में देखा गया एक एस्ट्रॉयड 2012 DJ 14 जो कि केवल 30 मीटर चौड़ा था। यह धरती के कुछ ज्यादा ही नजदीक से निकला था, यह धरती के जियो स्टेशनरी ऑर्बिट से होकर गुजरा था, यानी धरती की सतह से करीब 27,700 किलोमीटर की दूरी से निकल गया था। इसकी गति करीब से 7.8 किलोमीटर प्रति सेकंड की थी और अगर यह धरती पर गिरता तो इससे हम इंसानों को अच्छा खासा नुकसान होता और मैं आपको जानकारी के लिए बता दूं कि 2012 DA 14 के पार होने के 16 घंटे के बाद Chelyabinsk मिटियोर धरती के एट्मोस्फेयर में दाखिल हुआ था और इसने रसिया के Chelyabinsk शहर के आसपास के इलाके को अच्छा खासा नुकसान पहुंचाया था।

इस मिटियोर से करीब 7200 बिल्डिंग को नुकसान पहुंचा था। लेकिन किस्मत से हम उस दिन 2012 DA 14 के टकराने से बच गए, भले ही ये एस्ट्रॉयड आकार में काफी छोटा है लेकिन इस 30 मीटर वाले एस्ट्रॉयड का नेटवर्थ 2,00,00,00,00,00,000 US डॉलर था।

इसमें मौजूद सबसे मूल्यवान चीज है पानी जो इसके मूल को और भी बढ़ा देता है। अंतरिक्ष में पानी सबसे महंगा होता है इस स्टेरॉयड का नेटवर्क इतना ज्यादा है कि हम ठीक से अनुमान भी नहीं लगा सकते है। 310 किलो मीटर चौड़ा ये एस्ट्रॉयड करीब 15.38 quantrilion यूएस डॉलर का है। मतलब केवल इस एक एस्ट्रॉयड में इतना ज्यादा पैसा है कि पूरी दुनिया भी अगर एक-एक $1 करके छापे तो नहीं छाप पाएगी। एस्ट्रॉयड में हम इंसानों की सोच से भी ज्यादा पैसा मौजूद है, लेकिन यहां सबसे बड़ी दिक्कत है कि वक्त से इन्हें पहचाने में।

आखिर एस्ट्रॉयड की माइनिंग कैसे की जाए?

एस्ट्रॉयड माइनिंग बहुत ही खतरनाक और महंगा है, लेकिन असंभव नहीं है। जैसे-जैसे हमारी टेक्नोलॉजी आगे बढ़ रही है वैसे ही हमारी धातुओं की खपत बढ़ रही है। मोबाइल फोन, टेलीविजन, बस, एरोप्लेन, कार, ट्रेन, सैटेलाइट, ये सारे धातुओं के ही तो बने है और हमारी धरती पर यह धातु सीमित मात्रा में मौजूद है। कुछ धातु जैसे कि रोडियम, इरिडियम प्लेटिनम ये सब इंडस्ट्रियल keys है। यह धरती में बहुत ही रेयर हैं, लेकिन दिन-ब-दिन इनकी डिमांड बढ़ रही है। हमारी इन सारी जरूरतों को पूरा करने के लिए एस्ट्रॉयड माइनिंग बहुत ही जरूरी है।
