Steemit Is Like A Tree And We All Can Help It Grow : Don't Give Up On It

in #steemit8 years ago

Today has been a bummer reading all these negative blogs about Steemit. I know it has its issues, but to me I feel this place has incredible opportunity for people, and is a huge part in the (R)evolution of the entire Human race.

With anything crypto it will have it's highs and lows. Bitcoin has certainly been a wild ride over the years, and I would only expect that Steemit would be the same.

So with lessons learned from Bitcoin, since Steem is at a super low - it's a time to buy buy buy. It will go back up.

I understand why people are sad about how it dropped. Even yesterday I got burned pretty bad from the drop. I sold a painting on peerhub and was sent half the money of it in Steem$. As soon as I received it I cashed out into Bitcoin and was REALLY confused as to why I was not with as much Bitcoin as it should have been, but it was because Steem$ had dropped at that point. But even though that happened I still don't think that Steemit is going down the tubes like some are saying today/yesterday.

There's some people on here who are extremely frustrated with Whales and Bloggers and a list of other things, but to be honest I think those things will work themselves out and I rather don't even pay attention to that. If I think someone is a scammer fear monger who makes hundreds and thousands on his posts - I just simply don't pay attention to him nor upvote. I go looking for other people and their content. I upvote/comment/and follow them. I'm forming a community by doing this, and I expect that Steemit will have many different communities over time. It's like shaping your own world - and it's a process.

I know it sucks to work on a piece and not get paid what you expected, but that's life and Steemit is going to be like that. Over time things will be approved upon. No one is guaranteed anything in life - nor is anything owed to you simply because you're alive. With hard work these things will come.

I guess I'm used to these kind of things. I've worked hard on projects / products outside of Steemit and have had little to no support. My recent example of this is my music. I worked hard on writing my songs, and when I've finally had it published I still haven't sold one single CD/Download. I haven't even had more than 40 people listen to the thing and it's free to listen to.

Another recent example is a few months ago I bought all this equipment to print t-shirts I designed and only one person bought one shirt. So I have a stack of blank shirts and trashed the designs. The equipment is just sitting there, and I'm afraid to try at it again because I "know" no one will buy anything. I have a really hard time selling these days - used to be a lot easier, but what-ever.

Prior to all of this I lost my job 7 months ago, and then a month later I got scammed by a cloud mining ponzi scheme losing 3 bitcoin. I've lost all my money - have been so broke I had to move in with my father. I hadn't been in this house since I was 18.

So, life has been really stinking rough for me over the past 7 months, and the prior 4 years has been also hard because of divorce and depression. But I don't give up, and I'm not giving up on Steemit.

Steemit has helped me in so many ways these past few months - I've been able to truly hone in on my problems in life. It's recharged my desire to write, and not just write anything but actually put in some effort to make something that people will like. I get a positive vibe from this place.

I've found the quality of the people here (YOU) are some of the best - even though not everyone, but that's normal. For those who I don't like I simply hit the mute button. Boom - they're out of sight out of mind. I've been making new friends here who I think are the best. So a transition in life is happening for me and some of it is thanks to Steemit.

I'm serious when I say that the past few months after joining Steemit has changed my life.

When I started a few months ago on Steemit - I had some negative thoughts about Whales and some of the other things about Steemit that I didn't understand. Well, I don't feel that way any longer. Human beings are quick to be jealous of people they think shouldn't deserve what they get - especially when it comes to money. The best thing to do about that isn't hate - but to work hard on changing that. Making people mad, and making enemies isn't the way to go. Finding a peaceful solution that's balanced is what I try and do. So I have a goal to one day be a Whale - and when I do I will do the things I feel Whales should do. When there are more and more Whales the opportunities and ways things work will change in a healthier direction. So, hating is only hurting ones self.

Giving up, leaving, and going to war with people here is foolish - in my opinion. Having debate and dialog is one thing, but being rational adults and participating on always trying to improve Steemit seems like a better goal. It's just like life - no one's perfect. Steemit's not perfect, and people shouldn't expect it to be. No one should expect everything to be handed to them - we have to work for it. Us minnows have a job to do and it's to learn how this place works, and try to promote it and get everyone on those other platforms over here.

There's always going to be down days, and always up days. Focusing on the negative all the time will only bring more negativity. It's like the saying goes :

"energy goes where attention flows"

Losing confidence is how economies fall - It's how with Bitcoin it goes up and down. People are only making things worst by being sad about Steemit. Need to work on ways to build back that confidence, and I'm here trying to do that.

My attention is focusing on what's good about Steemit. The focus is on how platforms like this, and all the others crypto inventions that are being created are going to change the world. It already is. It's going to change the world and end the suffering that has been going on for too long if we want it bad enough. I surely do, and I want Steemit to work out. So, lets get to work!

I feel in my gut that Steemit is a game changer, so don't give up on it now! Everyone has a part in helping this place grow. If you're a Whale or a Minnow - it doesn't matter. There are all kinds of ways to help.

Anyway, tomorrow I have a job interview. Hopefully I will get it. If I do I'm going to invest into Steemit and try to focus on the positive direction this platform is bringing people. So, for you devs on Steemit out there - not everyone is leaving or feeling bad about this wonderful invention. I hope you too will focus on what I've said, and focus on continuing with making Steemit a great place. Like life, people will come and go.

Thanks - JK

Thanks for your positive "great" post and good luck in your job interview. I always say to myself "To be alive is good enough to keep trying". Up-voted re-steemed and followed. Have a nice day :)

Thanks very much @juanmiguelsalas. That's a great motto to live by. I followed you back.

Looking forward to some positive times ahead!

We'll be there soon enough, @rawnetics! We just need to focus on it and make it happen. I feel in my heart we will.

Could not agree more. The night is darkest just before the dawn.

Thanks for the upbeat post! I've seen a bit of negativity too.
A lot of people are looking at the falling green leaves, and not thinking about the roots that grow through the winter. ;)

I do see a lot of positive posts too, like this one-- I don't think Steemit is going anywhere. Eventually it will probably seed places where people can upvote songs or live performances, and artists might get payed after all with such a model.

I don't see Steemit going anywhere either. Yeah, the past few months I've seen great new sites that are moving towards that. Like Watchmybit.com allows people/artists/musicians to upload videos and people pay bitcoin directly to pay that person. So, instead of annoying ads you pay the person right away. Peerhub allows payments using Steem, and I'm sure there's a bunch of others being worked on now. So, I think we're heading towards that. :)

Thx For Encouragement!
Good Luck For You
And Your Job Interview!
Steem On!

You're welcome. Thanks for reading, @rossenpavlov.
