How I made my first money as an online affiliate?

The last two posts were about me embarking on a journey to start an iGaming affiliate site, which has now been up and running for a bit under a year.
When I just started I read somewhere, that only 1 of 10 similar projects survives its first year, so I thought to myself "If I get past that 1 year mark, I will probably outperform quite a lot of my competitors."
So I started - I created a site, which was incredibly ugly, uninformative and I was expecting Google to give me visitors just like that. Additionally, I was expecting those users to follow my affiliate links and register. Obviously that was never going to happen.
During that time I was reading about SEO, looking at other similar sites and trying to figure out what to do next. Eventually I was sitting with a huge list (which is still huge) of things, that I need to add and improve. Gradually I started implementing all of that one by one and eventually I started seeing my first Google clicks.
It became obvious, that I was at least partially on the right track - so I kept on reading and researching to improve what I had and add new things.
Slowly my traffic started growing - it is still not a lot, but way more, that I thought it would be in the beginning. On an average I get between 10 and 20 clicks per day. I can see some people actually reading my content, so I assume they find it useful, which is especially heartwarming. Below you can see a graph of how my site developed traffic-wise over the last 6 months (blue are clicks and purple are search views).
There are several top performing pages, which I put a lot of work in. These are: Paripesa Nigeria, Konfambet and Booster99. I referred to those pages just to show the type of content I am currently producing and the type of content, that can potentially get visitors.
So now to the highlight of this post, when I started I had several goals:
Set up a website
Learn about SEO
Get visitors from Google
Have people register using my links
Earn my first 100$
Sure, it's not much but the fact that it is basically something out of nothing still amuses me.
To this point all of the above goals were accomplished, which I was at first extremely sceptical about (just see how "well" my Steemit profile is doing :P).
