These Resident Evil Games are Something Else!
A short while back, I made a post about going back to revisit some older titles that, for whatever reason, never got to be played by myself. Well, I'm rectifying that pronto and working through the "Resident Evil" series, for starters. And man, now I know what have I been missing out on!
Having recently completed the second game (original, not remake), I was blown away by the atmospheric dread that pervaded through each play through. I clocked that game twice to see both Leon's and Claire's ending. Well, now having almost completed the third, I can see why this franchise gets all the praise it does.
Man, this is a tough little cookie of a game too. And when I say that, I'm referring specifically to the parts where you take on the ultimate foe in the guise of Nemesis. This time around, you play as Jill Valentine from the first game and boy, does she get more than she bargained for in this zombie-infested land. He is as tough as nails and quite tricky to take on. I guess I lot has to do with me "still" getting acclimatised to the "tank control" system.
This is a solid title and keeps with the same formula as the last, whilst tweaking a few details here and there to make improvements overall. I especially like the "gun powder" system where you can combine up to 13 different types of ammo to really get the enemies quivering on the rope. Awesome stuff and enjoyment to the max.
The remake of "Resident Evil 2" has been so well received so there is every chance this title may get the makeover treatment too. Games have been a passion of mine that has lain dormant for far too many years. I'm glad I've rekindled the same enthusiasm as back then, for the phenomenal entertainment medium.
