WhatsApp CEO Chris Daneils to visit India

New Delhi: Whatsapp CEO Chris Davies will travel to the country to include officials at the highest level on issues such as sharing encrypted data at the end of this month.

A WhatsApp delegation, among which members are expected to be their global policy chief Christine Turner, is expected to interact with the Prime Minister’s Office and the officials of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MEET) during the visit to Delhi. Sources said the sources said to find 24 ways to share encrypted data and online payment issues.

Whatsapp has to respond to its demand for the convenience of “traceability”, which will help in tracking the misinformation campaign left by enemies through social media platforms.

A few months back, Whatsapp was under tremendous pressure when the messaging platform was used to withstand counterfeit news, which caused crowds in some parts of the country.

The Messaging App later appointed a complaint officer to look into the offensive text and view complaints through the messenger.
