[Here is a VITAL tip and tool] - For all the newcomers, and people who just don't know. - [Make the most of your time here]
Hello STEEM world!
Welcome if you are new, or greetings if you've been around but we have yet to cross paths.
We are all here to make the most of our experience on this "game changer" platform; as in gains, time and using our votes wisely(or making the most of our votes).
Well, its been pretty obvious to me, that some of you are not aware that you have a voting power percentage(i.e 1-100%).
For those who have UNDER 500 STEEM power:
If you cast an upvote on another persons post or comment, your voting power will drop from 100% to 98%. Each of your votes will take 2.4 hours to regenerate. So you gain that lost 2% in a span of 2.4 hours.
The lower your voting percentage, the less your vote is worth, and the less curation rewards you will receive for the votes that you give. So I advise you to use around 10 votes in a 24 hour window. 10 + 2.4 hours equals 24 hours to get back to that full 100% of your voting power. So 10 votes will leave you at 80%, so try not to ever let it get below 80%.
If you allow your voting power to drop down really low, you are missing out on potential rewards that you could have made from the votes that you have given.
For those who have ABOVE 500 STEEM power:
Congratulations, you now have the ability to use a sliding bar. Now you can dictate what size of your single vote you will use during each vote you cast. (i.e 1-100%) 50% being half of your votes worth.
So if you are using all 100% votes abide by what I mentioned above for the people with UNDER 500 STEEM power. If you use your sliding bar in various amounts than you can easily exceed that 10 votes per day to a much larger number.
I bet you are wondering, "well shit, how do I go about checking my voting power?"
Well, here is a tool that I personally use on a daily basis; that I prefer over others that I have found:
www.steemnow.com
This tool not only shows you your voting power, but pretty much everything that has been going on with your account.(i.e Who votes on your stuff, your latest curation rewards, your author payouts and when to expect them, etc.)
Who do you have to thank for the existence of this SUPER useful tool?
None other than one of your fellow Steemit users, @penguinpablo. This person has developed a tool that I can't do without. He has made it so convenient for me to keep up with all the inner workings of my account; an overview if you will. Making it easy to manage and make the most of my time and efforts.
