Steemit payouts – I earned USD $1,585 in 2 weeks (NOT A SCAM)
so as i have mentioned on my last post on my steemit review. now, i am here to update.
initially, i was still skeptical of the payouts on 4th july (which also happens to be us’s independence day). turns out i should not because holy crap, i have received the steemit payouts!!!!!!!!!!!!
i still cannot believe my eyes, but this is what i saw, i have earned over the past 2 weeks just writing on my couch with my wife watching tv, after my daughter slept at night.
steemit payouts
i have earned usd $1585!!!! still cannot believe it is that easy. i had a mixture of feelings when i saw the screen – both happy and sad.
why am i sad? sad because i set up this blog in march 2016. i have actually only earned pennies from advertisement… and i only blogged at steemit for 2 weeks, yet i have earned a 1000 times more!
well, actually it was not that easy.
why it was not easy
not used to writing blogs
i guess as someone who is used to academic writing style, the transition from passive to active is a little difficult. an advice that i have received from seasoned writers on steemit is that stellabelle, a very powerful writer who has up to dated earned usd $25,793.89 for writing. a piece of advice which she has given is that “writing is actually thinking”. so good and clear thinking will naturally give a solid and easy to read article. i have taken this advice and it seems that it has served me well.
writer’s block
i do have writer’s block every now and then. but when i read other steemian’s posts, sometimes i get inspiration and start to write. i don’t think i am there yet in “writing with prose” but i am improving. =)
feel of what the steemians community like
it was also rather hard to know what the steemit community like because the community is diverse – different countries, different culture, so many different topics that people are writing on, etc. it is still hard to tell which topic can earn the most upvotes. first, the payouts depends on the number of upvote and the weight of the upvotes. if your posts or articles are well-written, articulate, engaging and popular, then you can expect to get a huge payout. but i must say from this point, it is going to get very difficult as the steemians get into their creativity and tried to outdo one another to come up with unique and great content. something that you will never see at mashable, faccebook, reddit, twitter etc. it will grow to be a phenomenon.
changes
the payouts before 4th july 2016 was 50% authors and 50% curators (people who upvoted the posts). effective on 4th july, authors will be given 75% of the rewards which give more recognition to content creators. in my opinion, it will really be great for content creators since a lot more credit is given to authors.
coinbitgold blog steemit
really so easy? what is the catch?
frankly speaking, there is really no catch. the only catch would be the process to convert steem dollars to steem and then to bitcoin and then to whatever currency you want. this process is quite cumbersome and there are some transfer fees. but it seems that as the market is liquidated, the process will be made easier. see this post on steemit to read more on how you can liquidate and get it in cold hard cash.
invitation to all singapore bloggers, writers and anyone interested
for the last 2 weeks, from what i can see, looks like i am the first and only singaporean on steemit. and i am not even a full-time blogger….if you have ever browsed steemit and was skeptical, please don’t. i highly recommend you to join steemit and start blogging from there. for example, if you were a finance blogger, i am sure you have other interests besides finance right? but it does not make logical sense for you to start another blog or website and start a new blog all over again. your attention and your number of posts on the different blogs and website will become very thin. naturally, the earnings from the website will go down since it is also dependent on traffic and advertisements. but on steemit, the money comes from the trading market and the people who buy steem. and you are rewarded for writing engaging posts. you might not be xiaxue but everyone has their unique story to tell and interesting experience to share, so why not write about it at steemit? =)
a piece of advice would be not to use your real name in steemit. if you noticed, most steemians use a pseudonym and i suspect the reason could be some steemians in fact have a full-time job. it takes little effort for people to google search your name and see what is in the net about you. so my piece of golden advice for you is that try not to use your real name
Very interesting! I like it! Good luck to you!
